Milano's Italian Restaurant, Columbus OH

My husband and I went to Milanos for our 16th wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation and we did. We were then sat at a small table in a very tight corner of the restaurant. That was not a bad thing but our server kept forgetting we were there. We both ordered a pasta dish that came with breadsticks and a salad. The bread was delicious but the salad was sad and extremely overdressed. I chose the house dressing and it was so sharp tasting that I didn’t finish the very small portion. It was literally swimming in dressing. The chicken Marsala was also swimming in sauce and the pasta was not seasoned when cooked. They also used canned mushrooms. My husband ordered the farfalle Romano with chicken and it was ok. The chicken tasted good but the pasta was not seasoned. When we finally got the bill, there is an option to pay at the table. It defaults at 20% which is what we normally tip but since we were forgotten most of our dinner, we changed it. As a side note, the decor was weird. I love Halloween as much as the next person but the bloody pig head at the entrance was an odd choice for an Italian restaurant.

We have been going there for 10 yrs. The new owner has made many Great Improvements with Decor and Food. The Manager Bartender Michael has added so much to the Atmosphere and always has new Additions to look forward to and makes you feel so Welcomed. Love our Nights at Milanos!

Eastside Italian treasure. Our favorite foods are the lasagna, veal parmesan, wedding, soup, and breadsticks; get the breadsticks! They have an excellent red sauce. Homey atmosphere with a welcoming staff and friendly bar crowd regulars.

Recently, I attended a “sip & paint”event with my mom and we both had a wonderful time painting pumpkins for Halloween. The best Sunday afternoon I’ve had in a very long time!

This was my first visit here. I was celebrating my birthday along with 4 other members of my family. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was fantastic.
The breadsticks I have to say were the best I have ever had. Anywhere. I thought that I would try the Veal Parmigian as I had gotten it a few times before at Armando's (I miss that place) and loved how it would seem to melt in my mouth. The spaghetti sauce and linguini was delicious. However I was very disappointed that the veal was tough. I could not cut it with my fork and had to use my butter knife. It was not tough that I couldn't chew it but still very disappointing. Another member of the party also got the veal and his was the same. Overall the restaurant is worth going to just don't get the veal.

So. Ever been to a restaurant where the service carries the experience? I gave the food a 4. It's good but my lasagna arrived luke warm, but the breadsticks are awesomely good.
Why did this place get a 5? Waitress Jada H. Plain and simple. She is friendly, extremely attentive, a very good ambassador for the business. She carries the experience.
Visiting Milano's? Ask for Jada H and you won't be disappointed in the whole experience.

AMAZING SERVICE! Currently quarantining (thanks Covid) and put in an online order. DoorDash handles deliveries. No one came to get my food. Spoke with restaurant and the owner offered to personally deliver to our house. He was here within 10 minutes:)

I struggle with how to write a fair review of this restaurant, given the horde of great and bad reviews. Is it horrible? No. It is incredibly awesome? No. But honestly, I believe your enjoyment of Milano's will truly depend on your expectations going in. If you are looking for a take on Americanized Italian food perhaps a step above that olive place, you will probably be very satisfied or even thrilled with your meal as many review seem to indicate. If you are, however, looking for an authentic taste of Italy itself, you will be disappointed. The portions are filling-perhaps heavy duty. I had spaghetti carbonara which is made with regular bacon, what felt like a lot of heavy cream, and tasted faintly of garlic which I'm not sure was intentional. A traditional carbonara is guanciale, eggs and pasta. The wedding soup was unremarkable, but not bad.

All told, I would say Milano's is okay if your expectations are set accordingly. Would take it over the olive place, but as I was hoping for authentic Italian, not homestyle Italian American I was somewhat disappointed. I would have even gone for pancetta which most restaurants use around here. Bacon is not authentic Italian. Full stop.

The Chicken Parmesan was so perfectly prepared and the fettuccine Alfredo and salad were delicious! The dressing for the salad and the bread tasted homemade. We highly recommend families to dine here for a yummy lunch or dinner but also for all your large catering needs. We will continue to be loyal happy customers! My entire family and all of my friends love this place. Thanks for the attention to detail and for taking great care of us as always!

Delicious! Breadsticks were hot, crispy on outside, light & tender inside. Antipasto salad, Chix Parm w/al dente angel hair, Lasagna sampler & Cesar side salad were quite fresh & very tasty. Nice size servings-A lot of food! Our servers Aaron & Amanda were excellent! Def plan to go again.

The food was superb! Service was on point. The atmosphere left a little to be desired. I feel as if that was due to the location. A self standing building with more room would better serve the fabulous taste and do better for the atmosphere. Please don't let this discount the experience. Overall it is a great restaurant!

Value was sub par on the sausage and peppers, they were dry on a flat plate with the sausage thinly sliced and dry. Never have I been served not in a broth sausage and peppers. The baked rigatoni was not baked enough! The cheese had no browning! It was barely melted. The room looks old school and the server was very personable. Not going back. Sometimes you may say they had an off day and give them a second chance but I have the feeling this is there norm.

I ordered Lasagna for takeout @ 5: 15 (which includes a salad and breadsticks). The lady on the phone said 20 minutes. I arrived at 20 minutes, waited 10 more and paid my bill and hot food in hand I go. I get home and much to my surprise my lasagne looked exactly like spaghetti, because it was spaghetti. Ever since Felix and his wife sold the place to a younger couple, prices have gone up and service has gone down. I guess if you pour enough red sauce on anything it’ll taste good. There are a few seasoned staff members who treat you right but that’s hit or miss.

The reason for the one star, I didn’t find nothing lower. Went there on a Monday for lunch not many people there that should’ve been a tip off for me. On their website, they have a linguine Primavera, however, on their hardcopy menus, and the restaurant it is not listed. I asked the waitress about this, and she stated oh they keep changing what they have available. And she didn’t even go ask the manager about it. We placed our orders and I got something different. Shortly after that, she came back to the table and stated that the Veal Parmesan which is what my wife wanted was not available and asked if she could change it to something else. My wife did that and then a little bit later from time, the waitress came back and asked if we had made up our minds of what we wanted. We said we already gave you the orders. Once the food finally got to us which took a little bit of time what I had the cheese sauce had built up a film over it. Me being nice just mixed up the film into the cheese sauce and ate some of the food. Not much because it tasted terrible. The rest of our family didn’t eat much either because it is not just did not taste that good. Only thing that was decent was the breadsticks and the salad. It’s been about two years since we’ve been to this restaurant now I know why we never came back. They have finally lost our business. Good luck to anybody who tries this restaurant.

Omg tiny portions. How on earth is this a side of soup.almost 40 for chicken parm, lasagna and 2 soups and this is all? !? The bartender said we wouldn’t leave hungry but I beg to differ. Not going back, unless I can order from owner himself. Waitress standing around talking to same customer for 10 m.omg

We didn't have a reservation, but were seated immediately. Our server was excellent and the food was delicious!
