Mohican Covered Bridge reviews
14 The Mohican Covered Bridge is the perfect hub for your trip to the Mohican State Park. Several of the main hiking trails converge at this location: Pleasant Hill Lake Trail, Lyons Falls Trail, Stage Coach Trail, and Hog Hollow Trail. Plenty of parking, bathrooms, and picnic tables are a quick walk from the bridge too.
At the covered bridge, there are two walkways for people to cross (North and South-facing). During the month of October, the view from the bridge is colorful and vibrant with all of your favorite autumn colors. Great spot for pictures!
During peak days, this place is BUSY. Expect lots of people if you go on a fall weekend. I recommend visiting during the weekdays well before sunset to get the most tranquil experience.
This area is dog friendly.
This is a beautiful trail that’s paved in the middle of Ashland county. I went with my friend and her baby, so we pushed a stroller. It was very convenient, not busy at all, and her son loved the bridge.
It's a newer 20th century built, 2 lane steal post bridge with concrete deck. But still lovely in this mountain pass park road. Walk lanes are on sides. Beautiful view from the bridge and around the bridge. Parking is provided at bridge and at small park on other side other river.
The area is beautiful during the fall. It offers a number of picnic areas near the covered bridge and semi-accessible hiking trails nearby.
A definite must see. I went on Halloween day and it was the perfect time of year to see all the beautiful autumn colors
Incredible! I was talking to the boys on the way up and said “no way they put a roof on a bridge”. Well i’m sure you can imagine the sound of my jaw hitting the floor when we turned upon this beauty! A massive wooden hunk of bridge with a rustic yet sleek covered top.great experience!
So beautiful! I was from the Appalachian Mts in TN. Recently moved to this area. When I visited this area, I didn't feel quite so homesick anymore. Simply beautiful!
A wonderful park that's family friendly. Main parking lot at bridge lot is very small but more parking is available on other side of bridge from main lot along with a picnic area that has a grill and picnic table at each spot. This picnic area is along the river where you can watch wildlife and play in river from your picnic spot! The river is your playground. Port a johns available with handsanitizer. There is a new restroom built but has not been open whenever we visited this summer. 2 Trailheads start from main parking lot that take you to the lodge, big falls, little falls and Pleasant Hill Dam. Trail is slightly strenuous. Across bridge is a flat trail that leads to Pleasent Hill Dam. A 2ed trailhead from main lot takes you to the firetower. Very strenuous. A small primitive camping area is located past picnic area.
Really nice bridge, easy drive. Not the coolest bridge in the world but well maintained. Nice for young kids, other activities close by.
Love this place, almost the same as it was when I was a kid too long ago to mention! Missed the old pump water fountain. Unfortunately the virus killed the inside restrooms but somehow the port-a-pots managed to escape harm, sad. We drove around a bit and ended up tubing a little from the bridge down to the campground since a storm brought some trees down blocking going further. We just walked back up several times. Was a little low in some areas since there hadn't been much rain, but still better than doing nothing!
Good place for hiking and getting away, they are still cleaning up from recent storms did take hit from a tornado.
Caught a rainbow trout here! Love underneath the bridge with the swallows swooping and diving.
Nice trails to hike and/or run. All levels of trails, easy or hard, depending what you are up for. I'd suggest going with someone who is familiar with the trails. I have chosen to run the trails, great exercise!
