Nature Center At Shaker Lakes reviews
24This is an excellent marshland preserve with beautiful well maintained wheelchair accessible wooden elevated walkways, and numerous decks. The rustic wooden gazebo is beautiful and photogenic, as are the variety of lookout points. We spotted a few ducks, a raccoon and a majestic deer with beautiful antlers along the trail, and ecosystem seems healthy. There's a pavilion for people who want to have a get together or a picnic. Overall an excellent place for adults and kids to get close with nature.
Advise- sit by the Bird Feeders. You can hear great conversations among them.

Great place to go for an outdoor walk. One trail is shorter and more accessible so anyone could stroll or wheel through and appreciate the natural setting.
Not sure if this is the place to post as I was on the north part of the park which I believe is farhill rd rockefeller park. The park is very wooded, the trails are small, not marked. Looks like it was a great place back in the day. Probably beautiful in the summer and fall but just brown in April. No water in this area. I did not feel safe as a single female from out of town walking by myself, but would have liked to complete the trail of I had a buddy along. Seems like the south/lower side is much more beautiful!
This place has changed so much. I used to go here all the time as a little kid and it was always so beautiful. I finally went back here a few days ago and it was just horrible. All of the land was mud. There was no water and no fish.
Wonderful little oasis in the bustle of city life! Offers amazing programs and enrichment for kids, opportunities to walk through nature and learn about urban wildlife and environmental conservation.
I love the nature center. It has people accessible trails through the woods, stream and bogs. I live down the street from here. We’ve seen ducks, heron, deer, coyote and fox - plus all the usual rabbit, squirrel and assorted bird suspects. They have regular programming and bring through school children by the bus load. We give to this non-profit every year.
Meh, id rather go to rocky river nature center, more kid friendly besides the trials, just visit isn't very hands on inside as other nature centers. Its more for events. We went inside, saw the turtles and went on a trail.
Nice clean place to take your kids to go nature hiking. They have a scavenger hunt and crafts that they do for the kids. The nature lady was nice and helpful. They have an indoor facility with large windows where you can look for nature if the weather turns. They are currently restoring the stroller friendly trail (sep2019). I imagine they will be done soon. The other trails are easy hikes either way. We took our three year old along the "long" trail and she walked the whole way. Did I also mention it's free. The world needs more places like this.:)
Newly renovated and still working on some paths. Will look more awesome in a few months! Great people and great area to enjoy nature.
This is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy nature. My kids love going here and have attended the summer camps. The staff is great with the kids.
Staff is very friendly and the place is very clean. Lots of interesting exhibits. Good for kids of all ages. The walk through the marsh makes a nice short loop. Paths and sidewalks connect to the rest of the park which was once the potential location for a major highway that the locals luckily stopped in order to save the park.
Very calming and relax location to either have a bike ride, a jog, or just to sit and view the area.
Love walking around the lakes with our dog. Always meet friendly walkers and joggers and other dogs.
Chill little park tucked away in Shaker. Nice quick hike plus a boardwalk and bridge style walkway.
Beautiful and well kept area. The center itself was very clean and the employees were helpful and knowledgeable.
Great place for kids and adults alike. Lots to see and do. Animal exhibits outside are nice as well.
Excellent place for kids and family. We attended a bday party and the kids really enjoyed themselves.
An oasis for birds and other wildlife, The Nature Center is a serene sanctuary for humans as well.
Easy, well-marked trails. Nice indoor educational rooms and friendly staff. Lots of deer and birds, etc can be seen during any season. Quick beeline over to the Shaker Lakes trails as well.
