North Canton Community Building YMCA

The North Canton YMCA truly cares about the people they serve and their employees. I work for Trident Restoration, and we recently helped them with their water damage. Ben Wheeler and his team communicated so well and did whatever they could to accommodate us to ensure we could do our repair efficiently and appropriately! It was so impressive to see that they got creative while the building had to be closed and offered classes outside and in alternate locations to make sure their customers were taken care of! Thank you North Canton YMCA!

Fantastic! Me and my family went for trick or treat, the YMCA did such a great job putting it all together. I'm not a member but I'm considering becoming one. The gym area looks amazing! Two levels of all kinds of different workout equipment. There's a nice pool area. All the staff I came across was very friendly and helpful. The building was well kept and tidy, even with all the festivities of Halloween!

They have a wide variety of exercise machines. They offer financing for those who need it.

They have trained staff and personal trainers. They offer a variety of exercise programs for everyone.
They have personal trainers for a extra fee who provide one on one training.

They also have a swimming pool, steam room and sauna. The pool is available now. However, the jacuzzi is not working yet.

They offer child care for parents with young children. Members can rent a locker but many are free though.

There is a basketball court with a padded walking track above it.

I've been coming to this YMCA since my kids were in diapers. The child-watch was an excellent experience for them - and after they outgrew it, they still loved the play areas available to them. I taught both my kids to swim in the pool, and now it's my regular workout place - both for weights and often swimming.

The massive wall of windows and the clearly posted hours (and the friendly lifeguarding staff) are my favorite aspects of this swimming pool. I think the temperature is a little warmer than I'd prefer, but not warm enough to keep me from swimming or to lower my rating below a "5. "

This is a very nice YMCA. However, when I walked in, a few areas were closed due to a flood including the pool, spa and racquetball courts. Very bummed. Hope it reopens soon and I will come back. Staff is nice. But since I’m from Medina County and not Stark, I had to tell them I’m visiting from another county. Took a lot more time than expected. Heads up, if any of you guys go to a YMCA that isn’t your local YMCA, unfortunately you have to tell the front desk that you are visiting another YMCA from a different county. They have a different sign in screen on their computers for that. More positive things about this YMCA, the locker rooms and showers are extremely clean and huge. Changing rooms are clean and organized. The whole facility is well kept. Gymnasium is huge, restrooms are clean. They also have a game room which is huge and very fun. They also have a variety of both men and boys locker rooms which means, men’s locker rooms are for 18 years or older and the boys locker rooms would be for any boy under the age of 18. That’s cool. I just want to see the pool, spa, and racquetball courts reopened soon

Used to be a member for over four years, stopped when they messed up their hours during corona. Went inside to get a day pass to check it out since it’s been so long, and the lady upfront bluntly said “no” with 0 explanation. Phenomenal start. No business from me.

Visit often. Only issue is some staff charge me for a towel and some don't. I do have a membership.

Open swim time is virtually non-existent. The room the hot tub is in has two doors that constantly open and close with people passing through and you get a cold breeze each time. Not a relaxing or enjoyable environment…

Everyone seems really friendly. I’m pretty shy, so I’m nervous asking questions. I like that there seems to be no judgement, and the workers are very patient and understanding.

It used to be a good place but now they've had a stair machine down for over 3 months and they keep giving you the excuse they can't get parts and steam room now is hardly working and the hot tub is at 100 to 101°. Whenever you complain they always have an excuse and somebody pointed out in the men's locker room this morning that there is mold on the walls. I understand that they might be short on staff but they need to get to it and repair some of these things that have been down for months and quit giving people an excuse that they just keep repeating that is obviously repetitive and not true. They can easily call a plumber and get the steam room fixed

Just an awesome place to go to you can walk in with the nicest greet ever and then the 2 part gym is enormous

It has a lot of good equipment and it can be fun for kids of all ages there is so many fun activities I do with my family

Swimming coaches and officials are unnecessarily rude, consensus between both away and home team parents we spoke to. Makes you appreciate all the other YMCA's we travel to.

Friendly staff. I participated in a class, good instructor who was welcoming and upbeat. Clean facility. I've used the equipment and have had good experience with cleainess, and good equipment.
