Oak Park Tavern, Mansfield OH

Went there for New Years Eve 2024! They had a 18 to 24 oz prime rib for $69 why? Who eats that much? So we got the stuffed flounder barely would make a good appetizer it was so small and cost $31.99. Very disappointed. Was always over priced but never this bad.

Haven't been in long time. Much different in all aspects. Waitress was amazing. Ty Sarah, food was delicious, cooked too perfection, & served.

Had dinner with family. Would not recommend. Steak was bland, rice was cold and asked for mashed potatoes chef said he didn’t have enough. We were there early by 4pm.
Only good thing hot fries.

I ordered the Lake Erie Sampler. It was nothing stellar. Just ok. I was not a fan of the tarter sauce. The French onion soup was acceptable, but also nothing stellar. My Bloody Mary was delicious. I tasted my friends Prime Rib which was also amazing. The service was ok but our waitress forgot several things and needed reminded more than once to bring sides, lemon for my water, extra sauce etc. My issue is this, while some of the food was really good, the prices were ridiculously expensive for the quality of food and service received. The atmosphere was not up to par for the price of this restaurant. If I'm going to drop $50 on a meal in Ashland County, it better be amazing. The facility was small, crowded and not as nice a restaurant for the price of the food. I know a lot of people in our area like this place, but I was not impressed.

My wife and I got seated in a room behind the bar by ourselves. Felt isolated from everyone in the restaurant. Food was good.

I got a Sirloin steak that was UNEDIBLE, the owner discounted my meal $12.00. So. I paid 12.49 for a salad and baked potato. It had been 5 years since I'd been there due to bad food. The way to get me back again would have been a voucher for another meal. Probably be another 5 years before I go back.

The food was great. Jen was a great server. They might want to update the menu on their website because their prices are a lot higher now.

I had their special which was their seafood platter, it was delicious! Definitely will plan to go back again sometime.

Great experience.food and service was excellent. Found out about this place and wanted to try it out. We live in Akron, so it was an hour drive to Mansfield. It was worth the trip!

The restaurant is very unassuming from the outside but the outside eating areas were very pleasant and the food was excellent. The staff were all very pleasant and efficient.

I went here for the first time with my girlfriend for her birthday and the food and service was. AMAZING! Me and my girlfriend will definitely be back here! Our waiter was awesome by the way

I grew up in Mansfield and never set foot in this restaurant until 20 years after I moved away. I don't know how it was back then, but it's now my go-to stop any time I'm in town.

The food is INSANELY good, and I always order whatever is on the chalkboard for the special, because it's never let me down.

Literally every time I'm back home, I make sure to head over to Oak Park and have dinner at least once.

I called ahead for a reservation for four to celebrate our 33 wedding anniversary! We got dressed up because we were expecting to be going to a nicer place to dine. We waited longer than expected since I had called ahead two hours prior to arriving. We were sat in the middle dining room, by ourselves, with the back screen door slamming every 3 minutes, people yelling "corner" every time they walked back to the kitchen and pretty much forgotten. Our food was cool when it arrived, probably from sitting in the kitchen without notice. We finally got the waitress attention and had it sent back, then the manager brought out our food and wasn't sure which steak was who's! Very disappointed in our night. Had a few other suggestions from people for where to go for dinner and we should have listened.

This place was super cute. The service was amazing. The food was delicious, I had the red snapper. The apple bomb drink was on point. I ordered 2.

Very disappointed tonight we had reservations for my grandmothers 89th birthday as a suprise to her as she has always loved the perch dinner. When reservations were made we were not asked whether we would be sitting inside or outside I suppose we should NOT have assumed we would be inside, when we arrived we were told it would be outside after they were deciding where to seat us. Reservations were made for party of 7 so our seats should have already been ready when we arrived to begin with. We have an 89 year old who has health issues just got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago and could not sit outside for dinner due to the heat. We were met with a very rude man at the hostess station who said that's all we have and nothing he could do. We were very frustrated as to why we were not even asked if putting tables together was an option inside and were told sorry that's all we have nothing could be done. That should be a question when making reservations inside or outside! We have made reservations before always have sat inside. The man behind hostess stand became even ruder which escalated the situation and we left. Very disappointed in this establishment as our family has been coming there for decades and will no longer return ever again. Customer service when charging the price for meals they do should be a given and there should have been help in figuring out a solution instead of just oh well too bad. No asking if we'd like to speak to a Manager nothing.pretty sad this is how this high priced restaurant is ran. We WERE loyal customers who even ordered carry out during covid lock down to support this business!

A very nice American "Steak and Potatoes" restaurant. Have been there many times. Best place I'm town to get a steak.

Had the lobster tails. Had no flavor, and mine were under cooked spots that were raw. But the service was excellent. Our server was right on top of everything!
