Oak Shade Grove reviews
17Very unique place with an old world atmosphere. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, who were patient with my questions. Definitely recommend the sauerkraut, red potatoes, and brown gravy. You could make a meal out of those 3 items alone. Delicious food.
The German-American Festival found a great home here. Great security and shuttles to avoid the drive!
We always have a blast coming to the GAF every year. Our first time back since Covid hit. Great food and a great time always!
I was actually really disappointed with the German American festival. We went this year for the first time and I expected more exhibits based on German heritage but all it was really was food and alcohol. That may be was some people like and that's fine, but they really should have more heritage exhibits.
We were here for October fest. It is a great area to have it. Plenty of room. Lots of shade to relax and enjoy the music. Dance floors are large so all can dance. Plenty of parking
Large facility with plenty of parking. We were there for the Polish Festival. A bit pricey but the atmosphere and the food were top shelf.
Best German Cuisine in Northwest Ohio, make sure you try the pretzel (enough to share) and great deserts
Good german home cooking, very reasonable prices 16 for dinner with 2 sides, attentive service.
The German American Festival is so cool! Live bands, giveaways from the top of the glockenspiel and the mascot is adorable.
For adults, I recommend the special GAF shot, which is totally Instagram worthy.
Food wise, gotta have at least a bratwurst with sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard and a side of potato pancakes with applesauce.
Pro tips:
Go in the evening. I had to leave after two and a half hours before I got heat sick.
Bring lots of money. It's $10 to get in and all food and drink costs tickets. Any souvenirs (and you're going to want them) are cash of card. Lederhosen and dirndl aren't cheap, since they're the real thing. I highly recommend a hat to avoid sunburn.
Bring water. Lots of water. It's a festival season gotta-have and there's lots of beer on tap, so stay hydrated if you've got plans tomorrow. Hot sun, beer, and jagermeister without water means tomorrow is going to feel awful
Very nice in both quality of food and service. We've decided to hold our 1966 class reunion here.
There for Polish Summer Picnic. Picnic was a snooze but a nice venue to visit with friends. Park was nice and clean with lots of tables. Very pretty place for an event.
They were still setting things up.a little wet from all the rain, but things are really taking shape.
Those mosquitoes really come out after sunset! They want your blood! Any unsprayed bit of skin on your body is a target area.
Most excellent. Ate outdoors with our 3 yr old. She could run & play. Most enjoyable. Food excellent. Coffee fresh but weak. Service was exemplary. Desserts & menu items large ample & delicious portions. A wonderful dining experience. Most delicious.
Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the dining room. Service is professional and pleasant. Great place to go to lunch with friends.
Went there for the fish dinner. Best dinner we had any place for lent. Great service, food and price.
Wonderful atmosphere and food. Going back soon. Love the German potato pancakes. Had the German variety plate & all was great.
