Ohio University Ridges Land Lab Nature Preserve And Scientific Research Area reviews
5Interesting and easy hike that includes several older cemeteries. Well-maintained trail lots of seasonal wildflowers.
Beautiful trails, habitats, graveyards, history, this was our first time here and perfect for family hiking. The hills were gentle compared to what I am used to in southern Ohio. Saw a few monolith stone bench seats and many other sweet places to chill. Loved it
Wonderful area. Nice to be able to freely explore the forests and land.
This is a good hiking area righ th in town. You can access it from a few places including driving up Dairy Barn Lane to a parking area and a small parking area right off 682 between the traffic circle and White's Mill. The latter starts out with a climb which some may want to avoid. You can treat it as a loop which is around 3 miles long. It can be easy to lose the trail when you find yourself walking through cemeteries or even along a road for a short distance. An easy walk would be from the lot on Dairy Barn Lane to Radar Hill and back. Just a warning, but at least some of the areas are designated for research and forbid dogs, but I always see dogs there just the same.
Nice trails with a bit of history added in. Tip. Plan where to park before you embark on the trail. We didn't do that and ended up walking a long way back to the car.
