Old Firehouse Winery reviews
16 What I loved about this place: it’s very unique and unusual; it’s a winery in an old firehouse and there’s a Ferris wheel and it’s on the edge of the lake. It’s very conveniently located, within walking distance of a lot of the shops and the lodge. It’s also a very casual option compared to a lot of other wineries in the Geneva area if you want an atmosphere that doesn’t feel so formal.
There’s a lot of room for growth though. The inside was a little dingy and stuffy and it was kind of confusing on the property to figure out where the actual wine tasting is. The space could use some updating, especially all the outside seating areas. The space has so much potential to be very cute and charming! The wine was served in disposable plastic cups, but it wasn’t cheap wine, so that felt really awkward. But the wine was good though!
Stopped in to Firehouse to taste a couple of their wines and ended up purchasing three bottles.
Is this place perfect? The answer is no, but neither is anyone or anyplace I've ever known. The servers were very friendly and our food was served hot and was very good. Our waitress, Sunny, was adorable and took excellent care of us. Yes, eating outside is a festival like experience, but isn't this a festival kind of town? I plan to visit again next time I'm in Ohio.
Server did a decent to good job, the food was awful, cabbage and corned beef was cold must have been sitting out, scotch eggs were over cooked, the perch was over cooked and kind of cold, Irish stew was ok,
It was a group of 7. Not impressed with the food and after reading some of these reviews, this place might need Bar Rescue for the kitchen. When our group left the table, the amount of food left on the table was as if we stepped away and would return. I tipped the nice waitress because it was not her fault. Also, get rid of those awful fries, burger joints have better fries than you guys. The entertainment Rocked, the band from Youngstown.
We have gone here for wine over the years. Went for a Celtic festival today. We decided to get dinner to go when we were ready to leave. I ordered a seafood dinner for $24 and my husband had a rib dinner for $21. My dinner consisted of a premade frozen crab cake which was so overcooked it was dark brown, a small piece of fish and 3 breaded shrimp. My husband got a small potion of ribs which were also premade. Our veggies were so overcooked we weren't sure what they were. The worst was the two takeout boxes of soft, geasy fries
For $72.00, I got to cook dinner. Drink here, eat elsewhere!
Went here for lunch for my bachelorette party and it took 2 hours for our meal. Food was okay. Server was very rude. We had to ask for checks three times. When we got them it took another 30 minutes to pay. Management was very rude when we asked why it was taking so long. Ruined the day. Will not be returning.
Got steak salad it was the best I ever had. Mixed greens, red peppers cucumbers, etc, It was a lot more than I can handle. Girlfriend got a salad also with chicken on it, kid got cheeseburger and fries and they were both happy. Don't get the iced tea, extremely dark and I don't know what the hell it was supposed to taste like, lol. Other than that I liked the place.
Always fub. It used to be a amusement park Still has the Ferris wheel. There's a bar and restaurant
Nice location right by the lake, on the strip. Food was not super expensive. Drinks were tasty.
This was our second time trying Firehouse. The first time we tried we walked out after being sat and no one ever came back to our table for 10 minutes of us sitting there. People walking past and all around us and no one came for us.
We tried again yesterday we were sat rather quickly. Waiter was great immediately brought us water. We chose the concord wine which I knew would be sweet but it was wayyy too sweet but drinkable. They gave us plastic cups to drink the wine. The nachos were alright. They’re huge for the price so that’s nice. The ground beef on top was a little questionable…we got burgers which were not impressive by any means. Neither of us finished our meals because we were just so turned off. The view is amazing and the service was great but the food and wine were extremely unimpressive.
View was spectacular, food was good, service was sub par, wine was horrific. I ordered 2 different wines. Was able to drink one, but couldn't even finish a full sip of the second. Would go back for lunch, but wouldn't waste my money on the wine again. Side note, others with me got the wine slushy, and that was very tasty.
Great experience and Lake Erie beach vibe. Wine delicious and reasonable price. Easy parking and Geneva on the Lake added to the fun. Live music too
Waited 35 minutes before a server came to our table. Servers blatantly walked past our party of 8. Food was subpar. Will not be back
The place was very busy right off the bat. You could tell the staff was very overwhelmed & burnt out.
Despite that our server was wonderful. I was a little shocked they brought out waters in cheap dollar store containers for everyone.
My wine slushie I'm pretty sure was just Welches grape juice. The burger I got had no taste, no seasonings.
Go for the views, not the food.
First visit of the year.and after 15 minutes of being seated, we walked! Never even asked for our drink order, let alone a food order. I'd understand if they were slammed.but it wasn't. Very disappointed!
