Ørchard Bar & Table reviews
18 Good food. Good servers.
Very noisy, can’t converse at tables easily. Pricey.
Now charging 2.5% “non-gratuity service charge. ”
This is definitely one of Catawba's best restaurants. I only hope the renovations being made will soon be finished. The pear margaritas are to die for. Try 2 and have a great night
What an absolutely wonderful atmosphere. Three buildings on the premises. The Orchard Farm Stand to browse, shop, and enjoy casual dining and beverages. The Coop was beautifully decorated for Valentines Day, and offers unique and creative cocktails. Then a short walk across the parking lot leads you to exquisite dining at the Orchard Table and Bar. The Coconut Shrimp with horseradish and peach dip is fabulous. You can taste just the right amount of each ingredient in every bite. Salmon and Filet Medallion dinners were delicious and prepared and served by the staff to perfection.
The servers, food prep, bartenders, all of the staff, are professionally managed and led.
A place to visit where every employee we crossed paths with appeared genuinely pleasant and obviously enjoyed working together as a team. Great job Manager John, and all involved. A relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Next time in the Catawba Island area, stop by for an experience to remember.
This place is uncomfortably LOUD. The ambiance was ok but not great. The food was good but not outstanding for the price. There was a 2.5% "non-gratuity" fee that was mysteriously charged on the bill. But the factor that will keep us from returning is the deafening noise. I don't know if it was the choice of wall and floor treatment, the predominantly over-60 crowd or the voluminous amount of adult beverages that were being consumed.but it absolutely ruined the experience for us. We were seated near two older women who spent the entire time yelling back and forth about all the terrible things that occur at their jobs. Just what we wanted to listen to on a Friday night.
We stayed in the area for two nights and we loved Orchard so much we visited for dinner on both evenings. Drinks and service were both great and the food is delicious.
All around a very nice establishment. Had clients out for dinner. Very nice menu. Staff trying to cover multiple areas so be patient. Walk the grounds if possible.
Christmas Eve dinner was very good BUT the Wauygu burger was well done when it was ordered medium rare - unbelievable for a $28 premium burger. The service was excellent. Cocktails were perfect. Risotto with the scallops was an excellent flavor and texture but served on the cool side. Aged NY strip was spot on. Half chicken with peach glaze and squash was amazing. Desserts were very good.
Kenzie and Lorraine helped plan and host my wedding at the Vintners Pavilion. I could not have asked for better people to work with on such a special day. They did a wonderful job hosting, and their venue space was an absolute dream. I could not recommend The Orchard more, whether that’s for lunch, drinks, or a special occasion.
Service was horrible at the patio bar. Waited 10 minutes before even getting acknowledged. Then ordered a rum and coke and bar maid brought me a drink menu and disappeared. Finally the other bartender waited on me. Immediately cashed out a vodka soda and rum n coke for $18. Went to Gideon Owen instead. Much better.
Way to expensive for what you get. Steer clear of the wagyu burger or brunch, the portions and flavors aren’t inline with the price you pay. Stick to entrees, cocktails, and dessert, although the steak is again…way over priced and not amazing. Wait times to sit outside are crazy in the summer and the dinning room is a bit underwhelming. With that said, I do go on occasion, so it must be decent.
A casual fine dining experience located in Catawba Island with great food and a fantastic atmosphere.
Highly recommend getting a reservation especially in the summer and/or on the weekends.
The atmosphere is wonderful. You just know you are going to have a great meal when you walk in. The chef does a good job blending flavors. The staff is knowledgeable about the food. Curtis recently recommended the pork chops and he wasn't wrong. In the warm months be sure to enjoy the spectacular patio.
I love the place, but the server we got tonight was horrible. We sat there for way too long. I literally got up after 30 minutes of being done with our food to find someone to get out of that place. I usually love it like I said but this time it was torture. Noone likes her you can tell.
Had a 7pm reservation on a Wednesday night to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were told by the hostess there would be a wait because they were short staffed. Finally seated at 7: 30. Our waiter was great but also apologetic about the wait on drinks and food coming out of kitchen. Our orchard salads came out without any dressing on them. Again a wait. My biggest complaint is regarding the 2.5% Service Fee added to everyone’s bill to. It was explained that this fee allows us to pay a fair-living wage to our employees during inflationary times. When I asked the server if any staff members received a portion of the fee, he replied “ it goes to the owners and it was costing the waitstaff tips because some mistook it for an included gratuity”. Most likely it is used to pay the cost of the major renovation going on at Orchard & The Farm Stand. By the time our group left, it was dark and the walk from the dining tents out back to the restaurant parking lot was on a rough, gravel pathway that was dangerously unlit. One of our guests has a mobility issue and they struggled with footing. A restaurant with $50 seafood entrees, $75 steaks and 400% markups on their wine list should be able to afford to light their exit pathways and pay staff a living wage. It appears the customer isn’t the top priority at uber- popular Catawba dining establishment.
Parking is limited. Nice atmosphere. They got us in but reservations are almost a must! The food is ok, but it's expensive.
Such a wonderful place.very accommodating for special diet needs.patient Wait staff.beautiful grounds and more.to.come.as they are remodeling and.have added just gorgeous brand eating areas.
. Even a game to play in the yard!
.
Went a long time ago and it was awesome but now it is overpriced and overrated. Food isn’t bad. Manhattan was very skimpy. Mostly one giant ice cube and a shot of rye.
Interesting cocktail menu! Great flavor combinations! Setting was nice even during construction. Good live music added to the experience. Service was excellent and food quality high. Lots of flavor - good chefs! A must visit if you are in Catawaba!
