I recommend Original Alterations to everyone! My first fitting was great and the dress was perfect when I picked it up. Then I had to call them in a panic a few weeks before my wedding because I lost enough weight that my dress was too loose and they fit me right in that same day no judgment and still had my dress ready in plenty of time! Can’t thank them enough!

The women at Original Alterations were absolutely amazing! I worked with them to get my dress done and was extremely nervous about it because my sister bought my dress and I had never gotten anything altered before. They made me feel so comfortable from the first phone call all the way through. They were also very reasonably priced and very quick! They were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and they also listened to my requests and made them happen. The dress was complete perfection. Also, after my first fitting, my dad came with me and tried to zip up my dress and ended up putting a hole in the mesh on the back? The ladies quickly sprung into action and they were able to use additional material for the dress and you couldn’t even tell. They’re miracle workers and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! I sincerely recommend them without any hesitation.

Absolutely amazing! I had my wedding dress alterations done and I had 5 layers of tulle with lace that needed hemmed, bodice taken in, a bustle and help making my straps more comfortable. Everything was completed as promised on time and to absolute perfection. I had delicate lace on my tulle and all the work on the lace area looks amazing, like the dress was made this way! I am so so happy. Getting your wedding dress altered is nerve wracking and I cannot recommend original alterations enough. Everyone has been so kind and I’ve had zero stress to make my dream dress even more perfect. You will not regret coming here and I’ll be a customer for life!

Shamsi did such an amazing job with my wedding dress. My wedding was delayed due to covid and despite my best effots, the dress needed to be let out. I was so nervous the dress wasn’t going to fit and that I would need to find something else in a short time frame. Shamsi let the dress out and even with a complicated top, it fit perfectly. My dress also had about 7 layers and needed several inches hemmed. Whereas a previous tailor (pre covid) had complained to me about the hemming, Shamsi hemmed it beautifully and I enjoyed our conversation as she pinned all the layers. Shamsi and all the ladies at original alterations are so kind. Scheduling was easy and they always had my dress out and ready to go for each appointment. Before scheduling each appointment, we talked about what work would be performed and how much it would cost, there were never any surprises. For my final fitting, I couldn’t believe it - my dream dress that I was so worried about was absolutely beautiful and fit like a glove. The dress was so comfortable all day. I can’t thank Shamsi and everyone at original alterations enough!

I needed a dress altered within 2 weeks and they had my dress done within the week. Definitely will be recommending them to my family and friends.

Disappointed in the outcome with my daughter's wedding dress alterations. She purchased a dress that needed very simple alterations and she ended up with a dress where the alterations made it too small to fit around her bust. We are now trying to find a seamstress to fix it and take the top out for her with only two days before her wedding so she doesn't end up with a busted button. For what we paid, the dress should have been altered with better care and done correctly.

EDIT: Answering to the business response below. They knew the dress was altered too much and the owner told my daughter at her last fitting to "have someone push her fat rolls down into the dress". You just don't say this to a young girl in her wedding dress. No way we were coming back.

Shamsi did an amazing job! The alterations were very reasonably-priced, and my dress fit great afterwards. My only critique would be more availability of weekend appointments, since it's hard for me to get time off, but what can you do!

Shamsi did such an incredible job on my wedding dress that I went from not loving how it looked on me, to feeling absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. She expertly hemmed my dress and added a bustle, but my favorite alterations that she did were lightening up the fabric on the illusion neckline of my dress so that it felt more delicate (this made all the difference) and fitting the shoulders to my proportions (before this, the dress was constantly sliding off of my shoulders). Besides this, I truly enjoyed our conversation; she is an incredibly strong and gracious person.

She also has the patience of an angel.two different people unexpectedly dropped in for services during our appointment (they weren't scheduled to come in until weeks later) and Shamsi helped them out anyways instead of turning them away (folks, that isn't an invitation to just walk in any time-respect this wonderful woman's time!). Thank you Shamsi!

I got my wedding dress altered here, and let me just say they worked magic! My dress was a couple sizes too big, and very detailed. It was hard to picture what it would look like when it actually fit me, but they made it fit every single curve of my body so perfectly and so comfortably it's like a second skin! All the wonderful ladies who helped me were incredibly sweet and complimentary, if you want to not only have your wedding gown fitting like a dream, but want to feel good about yourself, get it done here!

Shamsi did a great job getting my wedding dress altered. I had the length altered and added a little twist to the shoulder sleeve. She did it the exact way I wanted. She is professional and warm-hearted. Can be grateful enough!

I had the best experience at Original Alterations. I was referred to go here by the store I bought my wedding dress from, and I was not disappointed. I had a somewhat complicated alteration that needed to happen because of the lace and see through mesh on my shoulders that needed to be bigger, and they got this done correctly on the first round of alterations. I was so impressed! Even more, the alterations were so much more affordable than what I thought I would be paying for the great work they did. I can’t say enough good things about Original Alterations. I will absolutely go back here for all of my alterations.

Shamsi of Original Alterations is unbelievably talented and an even more amazing person. I bought my dress in DC but was getting married in Ohio, and when I couldn't find anyone available to alter my dress in my timeline or within my budget, I asked local Ohio friends for help. Shamsi was recommended by many, and I am so so grateful for friends who led me to her. She altered my dress in no time, a month before my wedding and scheduled another appointment the week before! I also added a jumpsuit to change into and she hemmed it and made it fit perfectly in no time. She was so kind, patient, and creative with what I needed.
