Personally I think that they work their employees too hard and make them work very long hours and that is not healthy for the employees.they need their rest.

Working here was awful! If only I'd known what I know now I could have and would've sued this place. Im sure most of the people here cared for the residents but unfortunately not everyone does.

In my opinion

Our father was there for 3 years, resided in Phillippi for 1 yr, to Aurora floor 1 yr, and into TCU (because beds were full in memory care and per assistant of nursing he needed moved) x 3 wks. Some of the nursing staff are wonderful and care very much about their residents but the director’s not so much. We as a family sit down with everyone involved in his care a number of times to be told they would work on our concerns about his care among the other residents, and basically were lied to. From his cell phone being washed in his laundry, to losing his teeth, and not being told about it, to also losing his wedding band but finally found. (which took me 3 phone calls to get in touch with someone to call us back). This place needs to be reported to the state for neglect of their patients. Our father passed 3wks in the skilled living care and not one condolence. Only a bill emailed to us wanting to settle up his bill. I truly wish someone would listen there and take in account that the residents residing are in their last stage of life, and they should be WELL taken care of. We tried on a number of occasions to tell them they were severely understaffed. Sad, for our elderly and especially during the COVID season when family can’t visit to truly see what’s going on. They are after nothing put money! Dissatisfied

The staff and especially the male supervisor Matt I believe his name is very disrespectful and rude. I had called earlier to make sure I'm schedule tonight I had called before in the past. And there weren't any problems before for but this time. Matt I had talk to was very disrespectful and had an attitude because I had called I'm not the first person to have problems with him I have friends and family that also work thourgh agency and have similar complaints tatheaviut the disrespect and rude. Attitude behavior that just go around there and I will be calling Corporate also cause at this point its just not professional. Wouldn't recommend anyone to work there.

I DONT HAVE A RELATIVE HERE. AND I WOULD NEVER SEND ANYONE IN MY FAMILY HERE. I work for Instacart a grocery shopping and delivery service. I was delivering groceries to a resident here who made the order and paid for it with her own money obviously.for her purchase I had to scan her id. What I witnessed was awful to be completely honest the staff in no way helped the woman with her groceries. They made her come all the way down stairs for no reason when I told them I would accept the id from them. The tall gentleman gave her a hard time about taking to long. THE DIRECTOR once she realized what I was there for, was beyond rude and COMPLETELY NOT HELPFUL TO HER RESIDENT WHO WAS HAVING A VERY DIFFICULT TIME SHE EVEN GOT UP AND WENT ALL THE WAY TO the second floor to get the woman born in 1942, rather than her take the groceries to her and exchange Id for her. AFTER WAITING CLOSE TO 15 MIN the
man wouldn't let me in the second set if doors to actually get inside. And refused the delivery. This is during covid and I was taking all precautions for safety I didn't want to enter the building. These people had no rearguard for the woman and her safety. They didn't want to get out of their chairs and do anything Beyond their job description to help the resident. I wish I could reach out to the womans family and let them know what I witnessed.

Otterbein - there is much to love about being an Otterbein Resident. As it is often stated at Otterbein, this is a place that seniors come to live a fulfilled retirement, not a place you come to live out your final days. First of all you encounter friendly and interesting Residents with many varying background and experiences. No matter what your interest, there is an abundance of activities to keep your mind and body active and fit. And if you like to do volunteer work, there are many ways for you to provide meaningful and greatly appreciated assistance in many areas on campus. Yes, Otterbein is truly a place that Residents enjoy and love life every day.

Otterbein is amazing! It is the best thing we did for my parents. They are going on their 5th year here and they love it. They love the activities, especially the dances, and concerts and they have made lots of friends. I highly recommend it for your loved ones.

Otterbein is such a beautiful campus with upbeat, positive, and kind employees! Every employee I have encountered with has always been so helpful and has had a "residents first" mentality. Not to mention the incredible amenities Otterbein has to offer to the folks that live there. This place keeps the seniors on the move constantly with various activities and events that go on. Truly a wonderful place!

I stopped at their weekly garage sale and the members there invited me to eat in their cafeteria. When i did afterwards the office personnel threw me off the property and acted like i was a criminal for trespassing. After reading all of the 1 star reviews left by many others, it is evident that this "community" is more like a greedy, unhealthy, degenerate, illogical, uncaring, group of unprofessionals on a power trip attempting to operate a health department violating, extreme health risk facility.

Being part of the Ministry of Otterbein is a true honor. Our campus provides meaning and purpose in serving our elders which allows for personal fulfillment each and every day by living our Mission. Our elders are our priority and I am thankful each day that I am blessed to be around such wonderful elders and partners!

WOW! What an incredible place for those 55 and better to live. So many beautiful homes to choose from and everyone is so friendly. I just recommended Otterbein to my sister in law as she is looking for a senior community for her parents. I know they will love it! Keep up the great work Otterbein Lebanon!

Otterbein Lebanon provides so incredibly much to their residents. Activities are constantly going on, and when you move there, you don't need to give up any of your hobbies. You can continue your wood working and gardening, you can spend hours creating layouts in our Train Room, you can express your artistic abilities in our art studio.and so much more. Such a fun place to live out your golden years. I am so blessed that I get to wake each morning and go to work there, surrounded by amazing partners and our wonderful elders.

They only worry about the areas that are for independent people they make money on. The have built and renovated those area but take one look at the people who need the most care but they don’t make money from and you will see the difference. The lobby to the nursing area in not welcoming you can see the building needs work as there are leaks on the walls, it’s cluttered and the furniture is a mis-matched mess and no one there to help tell you where you need to go, but go to the lobby for the independent area it is beautiful and welcoming with a receptionist. The nursing home part is neglected. The halls are dreary, the eating areas look institutional and the food is subpar. The rooms are small the showers not functional unless you are able to do things on your own. Old wheelchairs and it is hard to push people around because a lot don’t have the foot rests. What the call their memory unit is even more sad and depressing. They make the nursing assistance do everything in that area for some reason including cleaning and it doesn’t get done well and they only activity they seem to have for them is putting them in front of a TV. They will tell you they are above state regulations for nursing aides but they seem to not have enough. I happened to look at there surveys and it is poor and they are only rated 2 stars which is not a surprise, take a look and you will be shocked there was an aide that took an inappropriate picture of a person that lived there, this is from the report “State tested Nurse Aide (STNA) #1 engaged in an act meant to humiliate and dehumanize the resident by taking an inappropriate picture while the resident was lying in bed with her buttocks exposed without permission and not in accordance with facility policy. This picture was then posted on a social media website, Snap Chat, resulting in outcomes which one would expect a reasonable person in a similar situation to suffer, subsequently
treating the resident as an inanimate object having no emotions or feelings and causing embarrassment and shame for the resident. ” I feel some of the front line staff care but the management just sees dollars signs. I definitely would recommend looking elsewhere.
