Over The Counter reviews
14 Pros: Great location and place had a really cool vibe. Chicken wings appetizer ($5 for five wings at HH, $9 otherwise) were very crispy. The way I like them, and they came out hot. Felt they were priced right at $5. Probably would not have been as happy at $9. Another plus was the grilled slider buns. Very tasty.
Cons: Food was very middle of the road. Kind of glorified bar food. My wife's fish and chips tasted of stale oil. I tried the special sliders plate last night and got one burger and one pulled pork. They were tiny. Probably three bites each. Platter with overcooked fries was $12.99. The burger was okay, nothing special. Had way too much special sauce. Literally dripping out with each bite. The pulled pork was not good. Not tender. Large pieces. Pulled pork is usually shredded/pulled. This appeared to be cut/chopped. No smoke flavor.
Over the Counter is a "one and done" place for us. Too many other good places competing for our dining dollars.
Fantastic! Good food, great service! Here's the cherry on the cake. I also work there. And it's great, too. The management team are so down to earth and friendly and they care. We joke at times, too.they are better than some of the bigger restaurants around.
Brunch was very disappointing. The table was not wiped off and it took 45 mins just to get coffee. 30 mins after ordering food we were informed that a vital ingredient had run out, so one of our party had to reorder. We finally received our food 50 minutes after sitting down. The corned beef hash wasn't 'hashed', but instead was thick, gristly and unchewable slices of corned beef. We also did not finish off the donut kabobs.
I was looking forward to trying it out and will have to go back. I went in on a Fri happy hour, place was busy, and had a great vibe. Took the server quite a bit to come say hello, but again, it was busy, so it was no big deal. I asked what was on tap.server couldn't tell me 1 beer on tap. Not 1? Asked me to read the digital screen on the other side of the bar, which was unreadable from my seat. Lol. Your staff should know what is on tap, especially if there's only like 5-6 beers in tap. The server didn't come back for about 10 min, so I decided to head elsewhere. I'll definitely give them another try, not the end of the world, just annoying. I was a server when I was younger. Your staff should know the few beers that you have on tap for their shift, especially happy hour. Basic.
Great little neighborhood Pub. With good food. Great atmosphere lots of TVs. We had the club sandwich and a Reuben both were really good
OTC is my home away from home. My “Cheers”. My wife & I started coming here not long after it opened.
I cannot say enough about the staff, the management, the food, the atmosphere, the drinks, plus the prices are reasonable. It’s fun to sit at the bar and visit with any of the bartenders. Great service!
I have not had anything that was not delicious. I would always recommend OTC and always DO! You will not be disappointed! We usually go 2-3 times a week including brunch on Sat or Sun…YUM!
Great throwback Rx themed restaurant with very tasty food and friendly staff. Little info for you, OTC is named as a little hat tip to the building's original tenant, Nicklaus Pharmacy. Look it up. Anyways the place has tons of character, charm, drinks galore, delicious nosh & won't break the bank. Try them out sometime, you won't be disappointed.
Phenomenal atmosphere, with a hint of charm. Some of the best food you will find in the area without having to pay a arm and a leg.
Food and atmosphere is amazing. Carryout is super convenient and did I mention the food is amazing!
My steak was good, but my friends pulled pork was really bad like it spoiled, the wait staff is really nice, but unfortunately not trained and not sure about menu items, she really tried,
A little spot my sister and I spied while leaving her doc appointment. We spontaneously went inside for lunch! It was seat yourself and wasn't busy. I ordered pulled pork the day before from somewhere else, but ordered it again here because I was having an obsession. The food was great! I'd definitely love to visit again when I'm on that side of town.
Honestly so disappointed in this place. We’ve tried this place twice and each time the food was disgusting. This morning we got carry out for the family, got home and opened the boxes and they looks gross to begin with. Then we tried choking it down but couldn’t make it through half our meal. Waste of money, you’re better off going to Waffle House.
Good food, friendly staff, fun atmosphere. We all had different sandwiches and burgers - very tasty.
