I really wanted to buy from this business, as I prefer to buy locally to support the "little guy. " I tried but no dice, as the owner doesn't really put much effort into making a sale.
To begin with, I called two times to see about buying a stove. No return calls. I had to go over. I asked for an estimate - he scribbled some rough numbers on a post-it - no comprehensive breakdown of material or labor cost or work to be done. I had to go home and calculate the total cost of the stove with sales tax. I called the next day to verify the price I had, as I was willing to buy the stove if the prices was correct. Three days later no return call.
Additionally, I could not get a straight answer on payment. It seems at least for installations they do a cash business, which could leave the buyer at a disadvantage once the cash is handed over
For the stove he was selling, the price seemed great, but the materials to install were twice what you would pay at Home Depot - $500 compared to less that $250. I know a small-business cannot compete prices-wise with a Big Box but really!
I am in no way making accusation about the integrity of the owner. He seems like a descent and honest guy, and I wish I could have done business with him, but I will pass. I shouldn't have to put that much effort in giving a business owner my business.
As much as I hate giving money to Big Box home improvement stores I got what I needed at a price that worked with no hassle.

I have bought pellets from this place for years and I haven't had a bad experience ever. Owners are fantastic people!
