Palm Beach Tan, Columbus OH

Ever since they expanded into the space next door, the quality has gone downhill. The spray booths are constantly broken, and the one (20) hardly gets you even a light tan despite using darker cartridges. If they can afford to expand the building, I assume they can afford to buy beds that work, stock the rooms with supplies, and clean the place. Every time I spray I have to go to other rooms to forage for foot covers and barrier cream that isn’t empty. Today there was some sort of black sludge all over the wipes. I’m actively looking for a new place to go.

I went tonight after taking a break from PBT. I was very nervous as I have had previously poor experiences with the workers there. HOWEVER. I was completely shocked to have a wonderful customer experience tonight. The girl at the front desk (forget her name) was so kind and helpful. I was disappointed to hear that the minutes here expire and I was not informed but she was kind enough to renew them for me. 10/10 experience

Best customer service of all the central ohio location hands down. The 2 girls working tonight literally saved my vacation and gave me a recommendation to fix a whole different problem I had, and it worked! Best women support women style of service and community.

Terrible customer service. Wrong info. Adds are deceiving. Staff is misinformed or lying for commissions.

Last time I was here the manager told me I couldn’t tan unless I used lotion that was bought from them. That’s an outright lie. I had to call around and complain to get some credit back on my account. These places prey on customers who assume the employee’s are not liars and cheats. And for what, so you can get commission on up selling a cheap bottle of lotion? It’s actually sad if you think about it, that the people who work here would act in such a fake way just to rip off someone, not so different than them, over a bottle of lotion. Like what is wrong with you? You’re okay living day by day lying to people over TANNING LOTION? It’s pathetic really lol have some self respect. But I guess if you’re working in a tanning salon you’re probably already insecure and fake

I haven’t gotten a spray tan for 6 years and the dark haired young woman at Olentangy River Rd location knew this and walking me back to the room and gave me no instructions. I said as she was walked out, “oh wait you’re leaving me? ” She quickly told me that the machine would give me instructions and then she quickly shut the door. I didn’t know what to do so I got in without putting any lotion on my hands or feet. When I came back out to the desk I asked a doctor gal if I was supposed to do something with the lotion? She said yes and I asked her what I should do now since the earlier girl didn’t tell me anything? ! I let her know I wasted happy and the girl needs better training. The girl was sitting over on the side and gave very defensive and didn’t apologize! I asked for a manager and they said they couldn’t give me a name or phone number. Instead, I left my name and number; we’ll see if anyone calls.

I was so impressed with staff knowledge, state of the art equipment and lotions available at this PBT location. Ally was so friendly and informative. She shared the information and options on all memberships and beds. I felt comfortable with the level I purchased and it meeting my tanning expectations and needs. I saw results after the first tan! Would recommend this PBT location to my friends and family for SURE!

Found myself wanting to start up tanning again so I browsed through the options online. I select the store at Olentangy (it’s the closest & most convenient from my home) so that was I get the correct services & pricing. I found an option that says $14.95, plus $25 start up fee. Cool I’m expecting it to be $35-40 after tax or whatever else. So I signed up online & then had to go in to pay & finish the process. I tell my friend about it because she mentioned wanting to tan as well. Once I get there I give the girl my information, and she asks what package I want. I tell her the starting package ($14.95) she states they don’t have that option anymore & tells me the option I chose last time I was tanning ($49.95) I stated I did not want that package yet because I haven’t been in a while & I’m pretty pale so I wanted to start at the lowest grade possible. Then she tells me that is the cheapest option. Says she can wave the start up fee if I bought lotion (I had a new bottle of my own) then she said “let me see that I’m pretty sure you can’t even use that here” & I said “that’s weird because I bought this at a palm beach last time I was coming (about a year and a half ago)
After I told her I didn’t want lotion she hands me mine back and says here you can just use it.
So after being told they don’t have lower options available I finishing signing up& pay. ($80.08) then tan (6 minutes). About an hour later I realize my whole body is red & stinging.
The level of bed I was in is definitely higher than I wanted. That was the whole point of wanting lower level in the first place until my skin was used to going again. Meaningless to say I will NOT being going back to this location & have started going to the grove city location. Even though it’s farther it’s worth the drive to have a better experience with nicer people.

Love love love the tanning beds and the spray tans this by far is my favorite place to go always great customer service clean facilities overall it's a great experience

Lovee the girls that were there today! Great attitude. I work with all men its nice togo and chat with the women there on my break!
