Paloma Kent reviews
16Not having to drive to classes is amazing every day. Paloma is right across the street from campus. Paloma provides a lot of fun activities as well for the residents to do and get their mind off school work for a little.
I remember when this was Latitude at Kent. These were supposed to be owned by the church next door and supposed to be some of the most affordable apartments in Kent. That quickly was derailed and they are now one of the most expensive apartments in Kent and owned by a country based in Singapore. If you are a student please consider just renting a small apartment and furnishing it yourself. You could buy all of your furniture and throw it away when you move out and it still would be cheaper.
Paloma is located in a very safe area and so close to the university! I love the furniture as well.
Love to live in Paloma, it’s close to campus and is really easy for me as an engineering to go to class. Also I really like to have a private bathroom
I have a son that’s stay in thst so call apartment complex very bad customer service try to talk management they say they are out the office I was on the phone talking to my son he walked right down there and guess who he saw the same person that I wanted to talk in the first place so I had my son put Britney on the phone. So from here on out I will be calling headquarters
This is one of the worst places i’ve ever lived. 1.they towed my car even bc i had an “expired” parking pass even though it was not expired for the year 2024.2.they fail to inform you that you get charged for a free visitor parking pass if it is not returned within 24 hours.i got an email days later
saying i owed over $200 for not returning a guest parking pass. 3.they are the reason a few units flooded during winter break last year, i left my unit on 70 degrees and came back to it on 62 degrees, (none of my roommates were in the unit during break) resulting in the pipes freezing and bursting ruining multiple units as well as our amenities such as the gym and lounge.it has been about a year and we still have no access to the gym or lounge even tho the office said it would be open july of 2024…it is now december and still no changes have been made and they refuse to decrease rent prices despite not having access to any amenities.the manager and office workers barely do anything to help answer any questions residents have and most of the time say “i dont know”. Honestly living in the dorm rooms was better than living here
So far I love living here. The staff are so so nice and the apartments are beautiful and spacious. The amenities are nice and i love hanging out by the pool or doing homework in the outdoor lounge when it’s nice out. The fire alarms do go off a good bit but that’s what happens when a bunch of college kids live in a building lol.
No visitor parking over the weekend, lots of construction still happening months after was told it was done, is a nice place but definitely has its flaws, for how expensive rent is the issues should not be issues, for the money you’ll spend here you can find someplace better
Not a resident here but do you guys plan on doing anything about parking here on the weekend other than telling guests to go park on campus where they can get ticketed regardless when the weekend rolls over to mondays on campus for ticketing.and you can’t park at paloma before 12pm when the office isn’t opened yet. Almost every apartment complex has a guest parking system set up.you’d think you’d want to make guests experiences welcoming so you’d encourage them to want to live here.
That’s ridiculous,I'm thinking about move in Paloma next year, so I come to visit this building, and park my car in the future resident parking lot, they tow my car away just after 10 minutes! I gonna prepare to sue Paloma to the court to get back my tow fee, I don’t care about how long it will take and how much money I gonna spend
Expect cheaply built and furnished apartments, closed amenities, and management doing their best to screw you out of every dollar they can upon move out. Avoid at all costs.
Constant charges, fire alarm always going off with no fire. Tows cars even with parking pass
Before I start I would like to say that everything I am about to talk about has nothing to do with the on property staff. They have been nothing but understanding and helpful though all the mess I have been through here.
So, with that it seems that since beginning my lease here last year in fall of 2022 more has gone wrong than right. Wifi goes out for days at a time, parking was raised from $25 to $60 a month, water damage/pipe explosions that happened in DECEMBER took out our work out room and lounge area on the first floor and are still not able to be used. Trash areas are often a mess, back parking lot smells rancid and has not been picked up since we moved back in August it seems.
I live on the first floor by the lounge that is still going under repairs from the water damage. It feels like I live in a Home Depot when I leave my apartment. We have not been compensated at all for loosing these amenities. Even when we lost internet 2 different times for days at a time we did not receive anything. Saying "sorry for the inconvenience" is getting really old.
I moved into paloma in august and it has been an amazing experience thus far, my apartment is amazing was super clean when i moved in.the location is very convenient, being just minutes away from center campus. It coming fully furnished really did take some stress off the moving whole moving process not having to worry about buying a bed, or tv or anything like that. The pool and hot tube are amazing. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars is because the gym is under construction so i have not been able to use it, but paloma is located minutes away from the kent state rec center so that is also a bright side. I would most defiantly renew my lease and be recommending paloma to all my friends.
The location is very good because it is a walking distance from campus, the apartments are also good and spacious, but when there is something wrong don't expect it to be solved before you complain about it at least a million times. The wifi goes out and it takes days to come back, the gym and game room haven't been working for more then a semester and if you go ask the staff they never know when things will be ready or fixed, the deadlines just keep extending. Not worth the price
Lived here for two years:
The good: they are luxury apartments so they have a lot of space and are very nice. Internet is very fast and there is access points in every apartment. Appliances and furniture are new and modern looking. Staff is friendly and helpful at the front desk.
The bad: expense parking, aggressive towing, internet down often, false fire alarms at 10pm. A good chunk of the rooms got taken out by water damage due to a pipe bursting and a fire. Likewise, a good portion of the building is still unfinished. Revoked access to the gym with no compensation.
TLDR they are very nice apartments just expect minor inconveniences and to spend a fair bit of money.
