Had a few issues with my truck rental reservation. They did get me a truck the next day. The only small issue is when I filled the truck to return it it took $13 to fill it and I drove it 20 miles, so obviously was not topped off before pick up. So it was an ok experience but room for improvement

Lied about booking me a truck, had 3 people there to get same truck. Waste of time I could have used to get a truck somewhere else. Don't trust them.

This is by far the best Penske. They always get me right in and get me going again in great time frame.

Googling a truck rental place again so stopped by to check my review for this place. The review is gone! I'm sure i left a very negative review about a year ago, due to my very negative experience here. Definitely Penske, I`ll never forget. Anyway I reserved a truck weeks ahead. Called 2 days prior to check and everything was still set. Even had a manager call asking if I wanted to talk about a fleet plan of some sort but I only need a truck a few times a year. On the day of pick up, they had nothing for me and even though their mistake caused trouble with MY customer, he barely made half an apology. Basically "tough luck buddy, what do you want ME to do about it? ". He even laughed as he said "maybe next time". I couldn't contain my own laughter about him thinking there would actually be a next time.

I rented a trailer while my trailer was in the shop. They went over pre & pos trip inspections prior to the rental. There were true professionals.

Made us wait 10 HOURS on a rental. LIED TWICE about what time a truck would be ready. Instead of finding it, the manager is outside talking to the people in the garage. Horrendous customer service!

After dealing with these truck professionals for years on a weekly basis, I've found them to always be courteous, knowledgeable and consistent when it comes to anything from renting, operating and/or servicing trucks. They offer a wide range of size and capabilities, from 14ft to 26ft box, single/tandem axle day cab tractors, even single or double bunk sleepers. Full service repair shop, with excellent mechanics and management keep rentals and fleet service contacts rolling 24/7.

We arrived at Penske Columbus West at approximately 9am Saturday morning since the vehicle was supposed to be ready for pick up after 8. Upon our arrival Kyle informed us that the truck was not ready because it was in the shop. I asked if the truck they were repairing was an automatic because my co-driver has a restriction on his cdl. Kyle assured me that it was the automatic and told us it would be ready for pick up around 1400. At this point we left Penske and returned to our terminal.

I received a call from Kyle around 1100 informing me that the truck was ready. He said the shop got it in right after we left and expedited the service. I asked for verification if this was the automatic. Kyle said no it's a manual, then asked why we needed an automatic even though I had explained earlier in person. He then explained he needed more time to work on it and would call me back.

Around 1315 I hadn't heard anything from Kyle so I reached out for an update since we were originally told we could pick the truck up at 1400. Kyle explained that they did not have an automatic available at his location but there was one at the Columbus East branch having an oil leak fixed. He said they were working on it for us and he was going to get an update on the repair and call me back.

The rental office closes at 1600 on Saturdays, so when I hadn't heard back by 1500 i decided to call. I asked for Kyle but Connor said he was not available. I explained who I was and asked for an update. At this point Connor informed me that they did not have any automatic available for rental. The one they had still needed more work. He did apologize but I expressed my frustration with their lack of preparedness considering the reservation for the automatic had been made days earlier on Thursday. Needless to say, this experience does not get a stellar rating in my book. No one likes to get the run around. I would rather be told what I'm dealing with early and directly so I have time to seek other resources. They basically strung us along all day.

I explained to the agent that I needed a good truck as I was traveling over 600 miles. The front tires were out of balance and vibrated at 50mph, needless to say it vibrated nearly 90% of the trip. During the trip it began to rain and a leak in the cab began in the driver's side, drenched by trips end. Expressing this to the Agent when returning the truck they said "Thanks". Take your chances is my only suggestion.

I have rented two trucks and a car carrier. The first time was at home depot and it was a new truck. After getting the keys and signing the papers, I was told where tje truck was and to just go get it and if there where any problems come back in. As they where too busy to come out.
The second time was at Penski. The staff where very nice. I rented the truck, went home and loaded it. Came back and they hooked up the car carrier and helped me hook up my car. If I would do it again I would definitely get it directly from Penske.

Was looking to borrow a van for a few hours. I had thought the person I spoke to on the phone earlier in the day told me that it would be $19.99 for a 4 hour block of time, I may have misunderstood her though I can't remember exactly. In my head I estimated it would be about $55ish give or take some. I figured the $19.99 for the 4 hour time slot, about $30 for my mileage ($1/mile) and then about $5 for gas. So naturally, I was shocked when I went in to rent the van and got an estimated $172 bill plus an $150 deposit they wanted to hold in case of damage, higher mileage than the estimate, etc. It turns out the $19.99 is PER HOUR. But even with that if you break down the math the hourly cost would be about $60.00 (I needed it for 3 hours), then $30.00 for the mileage. That's $90. The rest of the cost was taxes and fees. I completely understand some taxes and fees but when you subtract the hourly and mileage from the $172 total they gave me that means there's $82 in fees. That would've been nice to know before driving all the way down there. Then on top of that the girl behind the desk (Carrie of Cally I think) decided to give me a nice little sarcastic "Have a nice day! " as I was walking out because I, like most people, wasn't willing to pay that much for a truck for a few hours. Only reason I didn't give this place 1 star is because if you're willing to pay that much money for a rental then it does look like they have a good selection of nice vehicles.
