I went to this church for years as a child, and can honestly say a lot of the people here are why I will never attend another church service ever again. L. L. Collins was the first pastor I remember, but honestly I was so young and don’t remember much from that time. However when Donald Pierce took over I was older and therefore have some “fond” memories. He played a pivotal role in the reasons I’ll never attend church again, these people are so judgmental and arrogant. So fixated on appearances and convincing themselves they’re better than everyone else. I remember countless services where they rant and rave about how you’ll burn in hell for all eternity if you listen to “worldly music”, attend sporting events, go to amusement parks. The list went on and on. I even remember one night where Donald Pierce preached a scathing sermon about how it’s a sin to have a wedding ring. They will tell you men go to hell for wearing shorts, and women go to hell for wearing makeup. How about just focus on being a good person that treats others the way you’d like to be treated? Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you’re looking for a good church that actually cares about helping people.
