Got an oil change on my 2004 Ford Ranger. Was told that I had to get synthetic oil.that conventional oil did not meet Ford Specs.and that they wouldn't change the oil unless I used synthetic. I've had the vehicle for 15 years.and, have never had any mechanic tell me that. In fact, I've gotten the oil changed at the same Pep Boys several times.and have always gotten conventional oil. Also, my manual says nothing about using synthetic oil. So, I wonder why I had to get synthetic oil other than costs more and could lead to future mechanical problems if you switch oil types.

Called today @ 5: 49 pm EST and verified parts needed. Drove 35 minutes only to discover they closed @ 6: 00 pm. Their store hours posted in three different areas shows open until 7: 00 pm. Example posted of hours.

I called to see if my tires were mounted and balanced I was put on hold for over 35 minutes from the time I left my house to Pep Boys by the Dayton Mall I was on hold for over 35 minutes when I got there I was still on hold I went inside and showed one of the employees that I was on hold 4/35 minutes simply kept on making excuse after excuse why I was on hold for that long saying that short-staffed I am very busy I only saw three cars being worked on in the garage and now only two people in the store I was also told that the phone system was messed up for 2 weeks and still has not been fixed and the employee told me that they notified the managers and corporate two weeks prior and still nothing has been done about it other than the employee making excuses he was really nice gave me a 10% discount on two tires being mounted and balanced my suggestion is hire more employees and fix your freaking phone systems have a blessed day

Booked an appointment online to purchase new tires and set up an appointment for 3: 30 today. I had to plan my afternoon around it, stay at home mom here. Got to the store at 3: 20 and was told that they only have 1 guy changing tires and it would be several hour wait. What? !? Then what’s the point of an appointment? He said I could reschedule for some time middle of NEXT week! I’ll find another store T. I.purchase my tires from.

Terrible experience! I have a vehicle that has a mechanical issue with a window motor, possibly the regulator. I made an appointment for 2pm and checked in promptly at 2pm. I was told that it would be in to be looked at in about 30 minutes. Well, an hour and a half later it was finally taken back to the shop area. Another 20 minutes went by, I decided to go outside. I watched the "mechanic" assigned to my work order smoke a cigarette and play on his phone for an additional 15 minutes. I went back inside to ask what the delay was. The person at the service desk said the mechanic already took the door panel apart and diagnosed the problem. They were now waiting for approval from the warranty company to do the repair. That was obviously a lie since I watched the vehicle go back and it remained untouched up to that point. I brought this up to Mr Personality behind the counter, his response was "you can go ask the mechanic about it or take your vehicle" So I went and asked the "mechanic" about it. Surprise! He was taking another cigarette break. He said he didn't need to take it apart to know that it's the regulator and said he told the guy up front that. (I'm assuming he was referring to the liar with the sparkling personality) I then called the warranty company and they said they hadn't received a call or claim regarding my vehicle. Shocker! Even if they had received a claim no one would know because their phone just rings and rings. There were several people on duty and not one can answer a phone. At that point, I was done. I told the liar that I wanted my car brought to me, I was ready to leave. He said "just a sec" Really sir? !? I called him out on his BS and he turned around and muttered what should be the pep boys motto with an annoyed "Whatever" Exactly what I was thinking.whatever! Piss poor customer service. I will NEVER step foot in a pep boys again.

Don't go here. Rudest people, terrible service. They will lie. I had a major issue about 2 months ago. On the receipt has the manager's number. I called and called - 2 weeks, mind you, and he never picked up. It also doesn't allow you to leave a VM. When I called the store it just kept ringing. Had to finally call corporate. The lady that works at the front is the worst of them all.

Its always a pleasure with these guys and i wouldnt take my car anywhere else. Very curtious, welcoming and punctual. They called me and told me everything that needed to be fixed on my car at a reasonable price and also finished sooner than stated I am a happy pep boy customer. S/o to Timothy.

Can't seem to answer their phone once transferred to service department. Either rings and rings or they simply pick up and place on hold. Had my AC serviced there a week ago and it doesn't not work and I would like to get it resolved but they don't seem interested in answering the phone.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! Dude working counter who didnt feel the need to wear a name tag told me he didnt care what online said he was not gonna honor the price I was quoted online nor was he gonna honor a printed out quote I was given by another employee for their buy 3 get the 4th free tire promotion. He was rude, condescending and I walked out frustrated. Will never go back.

Went in for a lot of work last year.

Tires and Alignment

Breaks have been working but loud sqeaking. Took it back in after 3 months still squeaked, Today (a year later) they replaced ALL breaks for free.

The service was adequate, however, the waiting area was disgusting. There were nail clippings all over and it didn't look like it had been swept possibly ever.

They went over and above expectations! Car broke down 100+ miles from home and they got right to it! Much thanks even though outcome was bigger than they work on! And this happened on a Sunday folks!

I hate to say it but the wait times are terrible the few times I went to NTB a few times for oil and tires changed and it was much faster by hours even when scheduling an appointment the same day, here I'm not sure if it's faster scheduling an appointment or walking in to be fair they might have been busy that day but having an appointment at 1030 and the car not even going in 4 hours later is probably a problem

Wow. Over $700 to replace a caliper, rotor and pads. That's one caliper, one rotor, and once set of pads. Oh, and a clean shot of brake fluid.

I usually come here for oil changes, ans always have a good experience with the maintainance guys, the manager, justin is great! But the bigger fella at the register is really unprofessional and was badmouthing another female employee in front of us. Extremely uncomfortable and awkward.

Justin and his morning crew are great, I came in to get my camry worked on after having great experience with them getting my breaks done.this time I get a defective part it takes 2 days to get new one in after ordering wrong one, then come into get the part put on and they have no one on staff who can put the part on.wish I could give better rating but this is becoming a inconvenience.

Had an alert on my car about my tires even after putting air in them while going home from a road trip. Was worried I had a hole or nail in my tire. The gentleman that helped us, put my car up on the lift and inspected all the tires and put air in and found nothing wrong (thankfully). Very helpful and didn’t charge for the inspection and air.
