Pho Lang Thang reviews
18Located on Race Street in the Findlay Market neighborhood of Cincinnati, Pho Lang Thang has become my favorite phở eatery, ever since Cilantro in Clifton closed. This place serves, hands down, the best phở in Cincinnati. As a beef lover, my favorite phở is phở tái nạm (photo in this review). The beef broth is aromatic and superbly balanced in flavors of beef and spices, without any msg aftertaste. It comes with a generous helping of succulent and juicy cuts of medium rare beef and flank cuts. The gỏi cuốn [Vietnamese fresh spring roll] - see photo in this review - is flavorful with just the right balance of mint, basil, and cilantro. I like their bánh mì đặc biệt (see photo) - the bread has the perfect texture and taste - not too hard or soft. As of this review, the dining room is closed for in-person dining - it's currently take out either by online or in person ordering, or food delivery only. Keep an eye on their social media and website when they plan to open the dining room for in-person dining.
Amazing flavors, executed perfectly and consistently. One of the most delicious take out options in Cincinnati.
Fresh, authentic, reasonably priced. Their menu provides excellent options for all seasons (Cincinnati really only has 2). The menu can be a bit intimidating for people unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine. If this is your 1st time, do a bit of research before you go.
I recommend starting out by having a coffee w/sweet condensed milk.
I prefer to get the rare steak pho, with the beef on the side. The beef will come to the table thinly sliced raw. The broth is hot enough to cook it while you eat, just add a bit as you go and you won't have chewy overcooked meat.
Excellent. Prices are in line with neighborhood/location. Sandwiches are good, I had the chicken and it wasn't too dry or too greasy. Pho is really good, a little on the salty side for the broth but full of flavor. I got brisket and would have liked to see slices versus basically chopped. Vietnamese coffee is dark and strong as it should be. Springs rolls are average. Real star was the fried tofu which have nice lemongrass flavor, outside is crispy but inside still moist and not overly deep fried all the way through.
This is one of my most very favorite restaurants, ever. The gan sach (tripe tendon) pho is my go-to. It soothes my soul haha. Go for the fresh ingredients and delicious quality.
The sandwich was as fatty as they come. I don’t know how it was considered pork at all, every piece of meat was a minimum 50% fat. I’m not even sure how that was possible. Chicken pho looked like it was just sliced chicken breast in broth, and the noodles were hard. No flavor. Very sad that I paid $30 for this. I am thoroughly confused how there are over 1,000 good ratings for this place. Do not recommend.
The menu consists of the basic Vietnamese fare and a few extras, but the list isn't overwhelming. They focus on every dish and do an absolutely amazing job at highlighting what the dish offers. Their pho is as absolute must-try.
This was my first eating pho and I absolutely loved it. We ordered the Chicken broth pho, it came with a side of veggies. The pho was very refreshing, delicious and hearty. Would definitely go here again!
Ate here while on vacation in Cincinnati. Great little Pho shop. The pho broth was pre-seasoned and very Americanized. No nouc mam on the table but still a nice bowl of soup. I would eat here again next time I am at Findlay Market.
Both times I've been, the staff has always been very helpful and the food has been delicious. The only inconvenient part is it being in Findlay market which has gone a bit down hill. Other than this, I am very pleased!
This place is for vegan and carnivores alike. I have been to quite a few pho restaurants but do not have any vegan broth. The vegan broth is delicious, flavorful, and healthful. Whenever I am craving pho I come here. It has a hipster feel and I absolutely love it, even my non-vegan counterparts love this place. I recommend it to anyone who wants pho in the Cincinnati area.
Best banh mi sandwich I've ever eaten. I got the chicken version and it was extremely good. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend trying this place.
A Hipster-like Vietnamese bistro located in the historic eatery district of Findlay Market.
Started with the fried egg roll lettuce wraps served with a tasty fish dipping sauce followed by a delicious bowl of pho bo served with a traditional plate of aromatic cilantro, basil leaves, bean sprouts, and sliced jalapeño peppers. Great date-night vibes.
I have been here three times now and each time was very pleased with my meal. The Pho is awesome. As are the spring rolls. Don't miss the iced coffee either. The place is small and cozy, but well worth the visit.
If you know pho or don't, this is the place to be for a healthy lunch with vegetarian options. Kid sized bowls are available though not on the menu.
One of my favorite hangouts. It's a centerpiece of Findlay Market. The food is extraordinary and the vibe electric. I love it for weekend lunches.
This is a great little Vietnamese place in the Findlay market area. My wife and I were seated very quickly and we ordered the phò with tender tripe and brisket. I also ordered the hot dripping coffee with condensed milk. Food was amazing and our server was very attentive and fast. If you looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the Cincinnati area then this is the place to go.
A tiny place with great quality food. Nice selection of dishes including bahn mi, pho and a salad in an Instagram-worthy cracker bowl.
