Pickerington Ponds Metro Park reviews
9We like to come out here on our annual trip to Pickerington, this time in particular to look out for the eagle's nest. We found it, but it seems to be abandoned for the moment, that is also what a ranger told us. Still, the evening walk was pretty nice!
Great place for walking the dogs and riding bikes. Peaceful "back to nature" surroundings.
Pickerington Ponds is beautiful and very well taken care of! Great place to bike, run or walk! Strongly suggest applying tick repellent!
Great place this time of year to see the beloved and beautiful Sandhill Crane! Eagle and Osprey nests are also present. Along with an abundance of other wildlife.
Nice park. Looks like it's still in progress for somethings but overall has nice trails.
Not much development yet, hardly any shade in parking lot. Trails look like they are ready. Nice to just go and take a quick break from this hectic world
Nice and clean park. It was quiet with very few people. The path was not paved, just grass, so prepare for wet ground if visiting after rainy days. Some parts of the path were not possible to cross due to the amount of water. Still a fun place! And allowed to take dogs.
We USED to love this park. It has several separate areas with great trails, biking, etc. There is a variety of waterfowl, birds and critters throughout the seasons including an active eagle nest, osprey nests, egrets, swans and cygnets and more! However, lately we've noticed it's becoming a destination for people who have zero interest in nature and make it so you have to be careful to avoid uncontrolled dogs off leash and awkwardly share a hazy viewing platform with people blazing it up off to the side and leaving trash. Not cool. Make it stop before it gets worse.
Great nature preserve for wildlife viewing. New Burning Lake area has more extensive trails and an obstacle course.
