If I could give this place -10 stars, I would. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve waited on hold for 45 minutes to 2 hours just to be hung up on, they consistently tell me I “make too much money” but they intentionally use a multiplier of 4.3 on your GROSS income, so money you don’t even receive in your paychecks, which inevitably will put you over the limit seeing as they aren’t using a multiplier of 4.0 like they should be, and each person you speak to tells you different things. None of the workers know what they’re doing whatsoever. They ask me to submit paperwork when I’ve sent it in 3+ times for each notification. I don’t know how these people remain employed to be quite honest because it’s honestly disgraceful how disorganized, rude, and ignorant these people are. Shame on you all for how you treat people who GENUINELY need assistance and are just trying to make ends meet. I hope you’re treated the same if you ever have to be in a situation like the rest of us are.

Absolutely no way to get a hold of anyone to help with assistance. Wait time on the phone is always "20-30 minutes" and we've been online 50+ minutes every time. Horrible system. Legitimately no way to get a hold of anyone unless they decide to pick up. There are NOT this many calls to deal with exactly at opening at 8am. Do better, JFS, no wonder you have such a low rating, you're not helping anyone.

The worst most unprofessional place I've ever had to deal with. They don't even PRETEND to TRY to do their jobs and yet somehow they get away with it and collect a paycheck. They employees at ODJFS are the real crooks scamming our government and tax dollars. I'm about at my wits end with them. I will handle matters in person if I am forced to, I don't care about appointments and phone calls when they are not honored and respected

I have been on hold with a call back for over 2 hours, I do not understand how you can take so long to answer for a scheduled appointment. I have had issues with JFS for the past year. When I went through summit county I never had any of these issues. They were amazing. Portage county JFS is trash and unreliable and useless

First call I was on hold over an hour but the second call I was on hold for only 30 minutes and got a very nice lady on the phone.

If I could leave 0 stars I would, Portage county jfs need to get this stuff together, I have been on hold for over 5 hours I even had a call back and still on hold. When do you actually get to talk to a person about your case?

Dont use their self scanner.i submitted paperwork and have since had 2 letters saying i never turned my stuff in but 1 page, why would they only have 1 page why would anyone send 1 page.ofc i scanned 6 gd pages to these twits.so ill be making a special trip today to show them my reciept for scanned items and re-give them the paperwork they lost.thanks for this extra stress jfs

Completely useless…how do you expect poor people to have jobs when you take up all their time on hold?

I've tried calling this office many times in the last few months. I'll be on hold for hours then the call will just drop. You can't even leave a message. No one picks up. You have to go through a huge number selection every time to reach the department you need. Still can't reach anyone. It's awful. When I call the Geauga office I get a real person right away.

For an organization meant to help people, you certainly go out of your way to be as unhelpful and inconvenient as you possibly can.

If I could give 0 stars I would I'm constantly pressing numbers to different menus each one telling me to talk to a representative but it never let's me. I try to stay on the line hoping it will take me to a human and also type in same numbers which both always worked.but now they pretty much don't want you to talk to a human.so I guess everyone has no choice but to talk to a machine now.

It's 4/10/23 and I actually had a quick encounter and only waited half-hour to report rent change. I give 4 stars.

I was physically in the office and spoke with a supervisor who told me to stop calling for information about my case. It has been almost 60 days and no contact. The guy at the front desk was amazing and a great help. The supervisor was rude and unwilling to listen. I had to physically go in due to calls being dropped. All this extra money in the state maybe time to upgrade some systems.
4 customer service reps all said different than what was said in the office. No one seems to know what's going on. I wish I would have caught the guy at the front desk name he deserves a raise he was the most helpful.

Have been waiting on hold since 11: 20am. It’s now 2: 25 pm: (. Was supposed to have my phone interview for food assistance @11: 20

No one is answering the phones today: (. I had a recertification interview at 11: 20. It’s now 2: 23. Have been sitting on hold for over 3 hrs

I have been waiting on hold for approx two hours. I do not have assistance at this time. I have yet to speak to a live human being and this is my fifth call of the day.

Was put on hold for more than two and a half hours. After the line was finally got through and I gave them our information, the line got disconnected. They have my phone numbers in front of them when they opened our files on their computer, but nobody called me back. I had to call again, waited for another 2 hours, and got disconnected again! This is ridiculous!

They always say short of staff but when I go ther ther is no short of staff if they would get off ther cell phones and answer ther work phone people would get ther money to feed ther kids they just don't care
