Red Roof Inn Ashtabula - Austinburg reviews
18It was a nightmare, place was dirty, no tv for 2 weeks, no coffee, when asked about coffee, they said the truck hasnt came in, I have pictures of the nasty place,, Overcharge you then manager doesnt have the knowledge to fix it, A NIGHTMARE.
Bed sheet was dirty.when ask to change them said I'll give you sheet if you want them you change them.extra towel laid on dirt hall way floor in nothing just on floor. Fregrater didn't work. The pillow where so flat we folded our jacket and used them under pillow Both r oom bed where dirty was told from front desk no cleaning crew on duty at 4 in afternoon. Then was told to call corporate and have set on hold for 3 hour no answer or call back.
This is the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Had a great view the sketchy crackheads and bedbugs left immediately still fighting for a refund. Guess small claims it is.
Rolled in at 0530 on our way from OK to NY. Great service, friendly staff, comfortable bed! Thank you for your hospitality.
Okay. When checking in, we waited for maybe 10-15 minutes cause there wasn't anybody at the front desk. The room was overall clean, but when leaving the next day there was some gross bug in the hallway on our door. Breakfast was really mediocre, with the only real edible options being cereal or a waffle. Stayed here since we needed something cheaper for our roadtrip with our pet cat.
We stayed for 5 nights and every single evening when we got back, we had to call to get towels, toilet paper, etc. Very disappointed in the service and not very clean.
Cracked tile outside the tub. Slow running drain in shower. Sheets not fully dried, but clean. Reported at checkout time. Tipped room cleaning staff. The room was very clean and spotless. Easy access to thruway. Microwave. Mini fridge. Everything worked. Quiet. Would use again.
My toilet was not attached and could fall over at any time.
The room was clean, but understand, this is an old hotel which needs updating.
Perfect for a one night stay.
Oh, it would be nice if the smoking rule was actually enforced. Front desk didn't care.
Room wasn't clean and very outdated. Breakfast was garbage, no coffee. I would never refer anyone to come here I've been to motels for half the price that were 10 times better than this. Save your money and sleep in your car.
It is a nice place to stay when on the road and looking for a comfortable bed and quiet rest. It has all the basic amenities and is close to fuel, food and the highway. Front desk staff were kind, and continental breakfast was a good start to the day. A few things in the dining room didn't work while we were there (broken cereal dispenser and inoperable hot water spigot) but those sometimes happen.
The super-long hallway was notable and its "coolness" rating was talked about for a bit after we departed. Would definitely stay there again.
Repurposed hotel from days gone by
Clean and improving from previous ownerships from larger chains
Lounge/Bar will be coming soon
Restaurant will also be coming soon
As of this stay, NOTHING yet
Reasonably priced
As ALL hotels/motels should be and use to be
Keep up the good work
The location & staff are terrific although the rooms could use some tlc & updates. So many updated beautiful surrounding hotels to choose from. Stained comforters when we arrived, gross. Breakfast was basic little to choose from; cereal, muffins & boiled eggs. People book this hotel simply for the cheap rooms but note, You get what you pay for
I only stayed here for one night because it was my halfway hotel before heading to Maine. I wish I could've stayed longer because I loved the room. The staff was great, too.
I was very happily surprised at the rooms. They were recently updated. Everything was fresh and worked properly. The front desk service was a little slow. Only 1 person working the desk and breakfast detail. The work out room was out of order, probably being updated. The breakfast was only from 6am to 9am. Breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs, waffles, English muffins, bagels, and fruit. Coffee, juice, milk and cereal were also provided. The king size bed was very comfortable. The price to stay was very reasonable. I would stay here again.
Laminate floor left our feet dirty. Toilet in room was cramped, the toilet paper practically hangs over the seat making it incredibly uncomfortable to use. Mattress was rock hard, pillows were very flat. Black mold in the overflow drain at the top of the sink bowl. Hallways were hot. Breakfast dining area was dark for some reason and felt like a sauna. We checked.the thermostat was set to 78. Not a lot of healthy options for breakfast, nothing hot unless you made a waffle or oatmeal. Get what you pay for.
Just stayed here for two nights with a group for the local medieval faire. Our rooms were slightly outdated, but clean, which was more important to us. The beds were also comfortable. The people who work here are also very nice as well.
Unfortunately, we probably won’t stay here again. I want to make it clear that the issues are not the fault of this location’s staff. To start, we tried to book on the app. It was a prepaid rate, and initially, we only wanted one room. However I was charged twice for the booking, as it turned out the app booked us twice. When told by a representative it would be “too difficult to refund the second room” we decided to keep it, and add two more friends to our group. No big deal.
Then, comes our actual stay. Within an hour of being checked in, I was charged an extra $61 dollars on a prepaid room. I asked the following morning about this charge, and the person said it may have been room rate change, but even she wasn’t sure why I was charged if the room was already paid, and they were going to find a solution and refund. So then when I check out the following day, the woman at the desk also said she was going to fix the rate for me. Less than ten minutes after getting checked out, I was again charged $61. So, I was charged an additional $120 on our stay, in a prepaid room.
Again, I don’t blame the actual hotel staff, but this is very frustrating for a room to be advertised a “locked” rate if you prepay, and then get charged for the rate increase on your actual stay. On top of being double booked. When I had initially budgeted for spending roughly $250 on a stay, we ended up paying nearly $540.
It’s also a disappointment because we have stayed at this hotel previously and had no issues, whatsoever. Was the building brand new? No. But the rooms were always clean, staff is kind, and it was a good budget friendly hotel to stay at.
The rooms were nice. They have a microwave and refrigerator. There wasn't a lot at the breakfast bar. There were bagels, English muffins, coffee, orange juice, milk.
There was a gas station and Denny's across the street that can be walked to.
This is an older property that wasn't originally constructed as a Red Roof, but the room I had was newly renovated, clean, quiet, and very pleasant. I was traveling with a medium-sized dog and there was a large and a well-maintained grassy area for walking. Convenient access right off the highway. The staff was friendly and efficient.
