We live in Batavia Ohio, we had a time when my husband was between jobs so our bill lapsed one time and they canceled our service. When we got back on our feet we tried to get our service back and offered to pay all the reinstatement fees and everything. We were told they aren’t talking on new clients but I watched all the new people in the neighborhood getting their garbage picked up so that was a lie. Batavia only uses the republic service so we have no other way to get rid of our garage.

Awful awful garbage service the driver only picks up my trash 1 out of 10 times he makes up reasons not to.the managers say they are going to talk to him they dont do anything. He almost hit me with truck when i tried to ask him a question i am a mom of 3 whose husband passed away after being injured in Afghanistan. Please never use this service after how theyve treated me horribly ALWAYS USE RUMPKE they always treat me so nicely their drivers are top notch super kind.

I have a apt building and recently cancelled this service.my bill keeps going up every couple of months without any notice. I recently had a $500 bill for one month because of overages and i usually pay $100 a month.i will attach a picture of the dumpster overage. They didn't work with me at all to fix this problem.i would not recommend them if you just want to pay a flat fee every month.i was set up on auto pay and had to change my autopay to a limit because my bill would be twice as much as it should be every other month. If you run a small business, or have rental properties it is very frustrating to be fighting with a dumpster co. I JUST WANT TO PAY MY BILL AND HAVE THEM PICK UP MY TRASH! I don't want to play these games every month.

Skipped pick ups! When called customer service to let them know they said they would be out the next day. Still didn’t come! Called again and said they would come within 48 hours, called to ask what time frame, the phone agents were rude and gave no help. I told them I wanted a refund for the weeks that the trash was not removed and the agent said no! She told me I had not filed a missed pickup even though I had just filed two!

Called to have a lockbar installed on our dumpster or replace dumpster with lockbar on Oct 22 and paid them $120. Called them multiple times a week and each call ends with them saying I will get a call back by the end of the day from someone who can help me. I did speak with a worker who was going out to look at the dumpster. He went to the wrong place first. I called on Dec 7th with the same promise of a call by the end of the day. It is now December 9th and nothing has been done. Emailed my manager to see about ending the contract with them. Apparently they don't need our business after stealing $120 and doing nothing for us.update 10Dec20: So when everyone can see issues your customers are having you are actually interested in resolving them by asking the customer to contact you again? How about calling me back? Search my name in your system. If you can't find it, I gave you the date that I first called, how much I paid you, AND the reason for the call. You have all that information. Use it. I expect to hear from someone today.final update: cancelled the request and got the $120 back.

I have been using Republic Services for at leasr 5 years and have had excellent service from the drivers as well as customer service when I called in.

Horrible horrible horrible! After they leave there is trash every where all up and down the street! I have called them numerous Times and it does not seem to matter. They make notes but No changes are ever made! Trash cans are always blocking my driveway so I have to stop my car in the middle of the road to move the trash cans just so I can get into my driveway, I have asked them not to do that and again it doesn’t matter what you say they do as they please! They miss pickups and I’ve been told the driver was sick! Beware do not use this service!

Honestly, their operational services are just fine. They have not missed a pickup in almost 3 years. I'd give their driver a 6 pack for Christmas if I ever saw him / her. They're doing their job just fine.

However, the corporate and local customer support's disdain for me as the customer is unprecedented. They have their "contract" and don't give a rip about anything I say or ask of them since I'm their captive and frankly won't remember to opt out of their auto renewing contract. Just recently they sent us a bill for 30% more with no increased disposal on our end. When asked about it, I was told they're entitled to whatever price increase they want and, oh, don't forget, you're under contract, be sure to smile as you write that larger check each month.

Edit- for the record, your lip service where you pretended to care in response to my review is just as infuriating as my initial concern. 0/10, would not recommend.

I personally can not understand the bad reviews. I have had the trash service from Republic Services only for a few weeks now, but they were very reliable. They pick up every week, on time, and they pick up everything. Before we switched to Republic Services, our old cans were standing by the curb and one had even fallen over. The old Service was supposed to pick them up that day (and they didnt), so when the guys from Republic got there to pick our trash up, they picked up the other fallen cans up and positioned everything neatly on the curb side. Maybe we are just lucky with the guys who fulfill the service every week, but I could not be any happier! They are doing a great job!

In the beginning, we did have issues with the delivery of the can. We basically received it about 10 days late. I called the customer hotline after the 2nd garbage pick up, since we still had not received a can. They appologized, waived the drop off fee (usually, it would cost ~25 dollars) for us and dropped a brand new can off on the same day of my call.
In my opinion, there was an error in the system or something, but once they knew the can was missing, they took care of it within 24h.

Its sad that others seem to have such a bad experience with this service, because ours is amazing in our area!

Avoid this company at all costs if you can. Missed pickups are a common thing in Anderson Township. And then if you want to cancel service, they'll tell you about a $30 "trash can recovery fee" that they miraculously neglected to tell you about when you started service with them.
Oh, and they'll tell you that they aren't required to tell you about the 'trash can recovery fee' when you call to sign up with them.
At this point, I'd rather pay a slightly higher monthly fee with Rumpke than ever deal with Republic again.
BEWARE and AVOID.

The driver dropped my can in the truck. Which is no big deal he called in to have the can replaced. The issue is that after 3 days I still have no can. I called Republic to find out when I would receive the new one and she told me it would be a week (the day after my next pick up). This puts me 2 weeks with out a place to put my trash. The lady on the phone was absolutely zero help. She told me to put the bags at the street and they would pick them up. I live in the country, if I put bags out there an animal will get into them. On top of that now i'll have a weeks worth of trash sitting and stinking in my garage. Unfortunately where I live I have no other options for trash service. This is the BULL that happens when companies know you cant fire them.

I knew I wasn’t crazy. I wish I would have read the reviews first.we’ve been going months without getting our trash picked up. We’re paying for services we are not receiving. I’ve called at this point at least 7 times and there reply is always that someone will call me back. Caroline if you read this just know that you should really reconsider what you’re doing for a living as you are a horrible employee. And if you request for your service to be canceled just know that you have to pay and it takes an additional month for them to remove the dumpster. By far the worst company I’ve ever dealt with.

Republic is a terrible company! My review is no different than anyone elses. This company sucks, period! They doubled my bill without informing me, they claim I have 1 can but have always had 2. They miss my pickup week after week, never an apology, just " leave it out, we'll get it. " Yeah.no thanks! 5 years I've tolerated thus bs from them. Ive cancelled and gone back to Rumpke. Republic says it will be 3 to 4 weeks b4 they can get their cans.no problem republic, I'll dump them in your sharonville yard.

Worst garbage company ever. When you have their services they rarely ever pick up your trash unless you call and complain. And when you call and complain so many times for them failing to pick up your trash they will just take your cans without saying anything. Call to get them replaced theyll give you cans that have not been cleaned in years and still have garbage in them. And when you cancel your services they take your personal cans after trespassing on your property and it takes weeks if not longer to even talk to someone. And when I finally got a supervisor to call me back he said he will personally go pick out the can in best shape and cleanest. Well they gave me a can with garbage in it still. Shows what a company they are. Will never do business with them and anyone I know (which also has plenty of issues) is now canceling their services and going with rumpke.

We really need a ZERO star option - DO NOT give this company business. I spoke with Tralise, David, Courtney, Shawntelle, Celeste, Amanda, Evangeline and TWO supervisors, Nathaniel and Greg. All of these employees were in customer service call centers. ALL insisted they serviced my area for recycling. And a recycling cart was delivered to me. They finally picked up today, and then I received the message from Tonya, here in Cincinnati, a manager of operations, who apologetically informed me they DO NOT service my area. And, upon request of the CEO's telephone number (Don Slager) she supplied three ineffective numbers to reach his office. There are no words to describe the ineptitude.
