River Trail Crossing, Butler OH

We have visited many times over the years using the bike trail, wading the river and panning for gold with our grandsons, and mostly just enjoyed a river site with great hospitality. We're self contained and have no experience with showers, laundry, and camp store.

I gave it 3 stars due to the fact that the seasonal campers are amazing people. The campers were very friendly and helpful. Our lot was nice and it was very peaceful. The "facilities" such as camp store and restrooms were terrible. Camp store is disorganized and stinks. Sign on bathroom doors says closed for cleaning 1pm-2pm. Not sure what day of the year they clean but during the 4 days we were there the bathroom was NEVER cleaned. There is NO swim pond either.

I throughly enjoyed the visit, the sites were pretty large and the river is great! There is only one that I didn't find very pleasent, the bathhouse at least in the ladies. It smelled like mold which was rather disturbing and there was all sorts of bugs. But other then that totally great!

I’m not sure what it is, but I love this campground. It’s homey! It’s quiet and quaint. I think my family may have been the only source of noise here these last few days. I’m not sure if we have been speaking with the owner or just someone who works here but she is so super sweet and makes the place feel like paradise! VERY welcoming! There we some things that desperately need upgrading like the laundry/bathhouse and the swing set area. The Wi-Fi breaks my heart hahaha. Very hard being a full time student and homeschooling mom when the internet is subpar. But we made it work! I swear.if I ever run into a good bit of money, I will help upgrade this place because I think it’s a gem! Adding either another dumpster, or a trash can somewhere throughout the sites would be more than awesome too.
In any event, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back!

Went there to visit friends camping there. Very pleasant and quiet. They have bike and walking trails. Even a small airstrip. When we get a camper, I want to part it there. It's also very clean.

Love this campground! Privately owned and operated by a very nice couple! Always friendly to us when we camp there! Beautiful riverside campsites with 30 amp hook up and water. Very reasonable prices.we will be back again and again!

We stayed here from Aug. 8 - Aug. 15,2021. We loved this small, quaint campground. The lot was level and spacious. It had full hookups and everything worked perfectly. They have a laundry room with machines that worked great. The bathhouses were very clean. The owners were very nice and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here and plan on returning for sure!

Spent 2 weeks, had a great time. Owners Barb and Brian are awesome. Bike trail is right behind campground. 18 + miles. Will be back, probably next year.

It's a no frills campground. Small but priced right. Our stay was super quiet which is what we look for in a campground. There are seasonals. Loosely operated but but saw no issues. Owners are friendly. Sites all seem to be large and plenty of trees for shade. Nestled between a creek and cornfield. Have seen rabbits and a deer. A walking trail we didn't have time to use. Close to town and services. We are using it again on our return trip. Giving it a 4 star since it could use some updating but otherwise we are very pleased with our experience.

We stayed here for a long weekend and loved it! The facilities were clean and the owners were incredibly nice! We would definitely go back here.

Great overnight stop after a long day on the road. Appears to be mostly seasonals on the RV sites, but we were able to get a long pull through so we didn't have to un-hook our tow vehicle. People at the office and around the campground were super friendly. About 10 miles off 71. Would stay here again when passing through.

It will be worth the diversion from the Interstate to visit this hidden gem of a campground! Beautiful, shady, wide sites; sparkling facilities; steps away from a paved rail trail that is lovey, and a beautiful river running through the park. Owner Brian (we didn’t meet his wife) was helpful and fun to talk with. On top of it all, the price cannot be beat! A worthwhile destination for a multi-day stop or an overnight! Loved it!

River Tail Crossing is always amazing.
If you need a party and pool find it somewhere else but if you are looking for a quiet getaway the is perfect

This is a great place to go to just chill. There a great bike/walking trail. River to Canoe For waid in.
Play ground is small. No pool. Just a great place to hang out with family and friends.

This was a great find, not too far from the interstate, but far enough to enjoy a night of peace and quiet! The staff is extremely friendly and the rates can't be beat! I highly recommend giving them a try if you are in the area and looking for somewhere to ned down for the night.

Good size tent sites very nice owners. Tent sites are close to the water so we took are tubes and Floated in the river. We ran low on firewood and asked the owners if they sell bigger pieces of firewood the stuff they have taped up is you normally camp firewood they had bigger pieces by entrance they brought us a tractor bucket full for $15 so very good deal with that. I definitely will say the bathrooms were older and needed a better cleaning but all in all a very nice quiet campground.

Nice park.close to the trail which is a great ride. All the people were friendly and the the management was very courteous.

Stayed a couple nights tent camping with my family and had a great time. The site was ideal, right near the river. Awesome trail and the owners were the nicest people and helpful for example; i needed more cups so i went into the store on site to buy some and although they didn't carry any the owner gave me some from his own supply which saved me a trip away from the camp site. Great experience and would definitely return sometime.
