Rock City Church Short North, Columbus OH

It amazes me how preachers keep getting "called by God" to build multimillion dollar churches and buy jets. I'm surprised that the God of the Bible wouldn't call them to the starving children in the world or to the Middle East where there is little to no access to the gospel. Maybe they know something I don't. Maybe we do need another building. Perhaps that is the real church. Building more buildings is definitely the solution. Why should the church give itself to the "least of these"? But these preachers are "ordained" and beyond reproach, even the Bible cannot challenge their authority. What an ecumenical age.

An asset to the community. This church family is helping those who need it most. If v you want to find a church family this is it.

A great church to get involved with, to serve with, and to share Christ's love with. Welcoming, and loyal to the truths of Scripture. They are truly making a Kingdom impact.

This is political based church that spreads propaganda using “selected” words of God without looking at the big picture of what the Lord wants from us. Avoid if you are a level minded Christian that actually understands the word of God. This place picks and chooses verses to spread their views instead of actually preaching the Lord’s message.this was literally a political Ted talk and not a sermon. If you are seeking to become a person that is closer to God and seek a community that loves you as you are this is not it. Almost cultish with the way people sucked in their message. Politics do not belong in the church no matter what your theology is because we as Christians need to work together to be better people and help others rather than shoving false ideologies down peoples throats. Context clues and historical background should be used when using verses. Any time they probably see a Bible verse they probably think to themselves “hmm how does this apply to our current political agenda. ” Very creepy and wanted to run out after the first words in their “Ted talk” video

All I'm going to say is: Praise God for showing me a good church that I can get to using public transit!

This is my church home, I've been attending here for about 10 years. I love this church I had been to several other churches an no one compares to this one!

This is our second time enjoying services at Rock City Church. We received another great message yesterday morning as we did the first time.

I wish I could give this church a good review but I can't. Not after having served there for years, being a part of the worship band, doing everything I could to feel a part of this community, I ultimately felt so excluded and unloved there. It really feels like it's "rock city first, then god, then people" which is a shame. I had such high hopes for this place because, at first, it felt like there was some chance that I had found my church home/ family, but it wasn't until years of involvement that the best answer I got was "you're not doing enough around here, perhaps you should just give us more of your time". And as much as I gave, I only wound up feeling used and empty. Proceed with caution with this place.

11/7/21 Update: I haven’t gone there in a while but I still often receive their mass texts. I always reply that I haven’t gone there in quite some time and that I left because I felt hurt by that church. This is the second time that they’ve told me that they’ll take my name off the texting chain, but I don’t believe that’ll happen. And in classic rock city fashion, they just say “sorry you were hurt, didn’t mean to, hope you found somewhere else to go” and not inquire about what went wrong. Because I believe deep down they don’t really care about how people feel, just about how many people show up.

4/3/22 Update: Got another one of their mass texts after being told months ago I was taken off the chain. Same song and dance: “Sorry you were hurt, hope you found somewhere else to go, you’ve been removed from the thread”. Seeing as how their administration abilities are as bad as they are at fostering meaningful relationships with people that help them grow in community, I have a feeling I’ll be hearing from them again.

I have been blessed by Christ with Rock City who clearly does the works of Christ, in every aspect. I am a product of the Dream Center when it was new. I was one way, a sinner in every way. Now I am another by the grace of God. Thank you Jesus, Thank you Rock City

Rock City Church seems to be all about appearances and being flashy instead of God’s Word. This “church” reminds me of a Hillsong knockoff, and the way Pastor Chad presents himself is very similar to Carl Lentz. The service was showy. It came off as superficial instead of substantive or sincere. Have been trying out new churches in the area and will not be returning to this church.

Always on point. Pulls no punches. Tells it like it is, like it or not. Everything is backed up by the Word.
