Roost Modern Italian reviews
15Best steak I've ever had. The wait staff was phenomenal! Prices might be considered high by some, but the quality and service was way beyond average.
A quiet Tuesday evening after Labor Day - and a business meeting with a colleague. Probably THE best seafood dish I've had in 10 years - the swordfish special entree that night was simply perfection. Thick & perfectly cooked, that it almost melted in your mouth, with a very complementary side of a small pasta and zucchini. Simply fantastic.
The food was fantastic, steak a perfect medium, the crabcake tasted great, presentation of food was nice aswell
Always loved the food but not crazy about this seasons menu tastings. The filet is excellent as always. The farmhouse bread was great, almost like a sweet garlic roll. The pairing with the filet and the fish were just ok. I think I was looking more vegetables?
I have been Dining at Roost since it’s opening. It never disappoints. Roost has a very nice menu and wine list. The staff is professional and attentive. The servers at the bar are top notch. The swordfish, filet and halibut are terrific as are the specials. The meals I have had at Roost are as good as I have had at really good restaurants all over the country.
Service was good. I had beef & lamb ragu. Sauce was very good but meal was ruined by pasta that was both undercooked and overcooked. They must have mixed two or more different batches of pasta. Other people seemed to enjoy their meals, so might just have been bad luck on my part.
We ate at Roost for a weekend dinner, and I kept asking myself why we have never eaten here before. The food, service, and ambiance is fantastic. There are so many points that distinguish Roost Modern Italian from other Dayton restaurants. This includes the little touches like the lavender herbal hand soak and towel prior to dining. The ability to purchase wine by the carafe instead of merely by the glass or bottle, and the selections are extremely good. The ambiance is quiet with light background music, which is comforting from the many loud dining experiences of so many of the better restaurants.
Very slow, and the food is very strange. Not at all modern or tasty. Only they have a beautiful interior design. They wasted such a great opportunity.
It was nice, but I wont be going back to the Oregon district. Dirty, unsafe. Just not going to spend $250+ on dinner and worry about horrible parking and getting robbed.
Good food and service, but seemed WAY overpriced. We only got 2 appetizers to split between 2 people.
Great experience will definitely go back, my husband had the Mussels Piccanti and I had the Arancini both were delicious. The drinks are outstanding. We are trying the Vobe in Pork chop with the brussel sprouts and sweet corn.
My husband and I chose Roost for our date night stop and it was amazing! First time at this restaurant and the food, drinks and service were top notch. Nyalah waited on us and was super accommodating. Overall really great experience - we will be back!
Very impressed with the flavor! I ordered chicken pasta and my GF had a pork chop. Both were exceptional. Definitely will be back soon.
Great ambience and great staff. The flavors were pretty good on the appetizers and sides. Four stars for interesting entree options but lacked outstanding flavor or anything unique to justify the main course pricing
Went to experience this restaurant for the first time today.
The table started with the Farmhouse bread-it states that it comes with a garlic confee. When it came out, it was toasted bread with some cheese on it, there was absolutely no garlic confee. When asked about the confee, it was explained it is put on the bread and baked-it did not taste like there was any garlic at all it tasted like a very plain piece of buttered toast.
For the main dish, I ordered LINGUINE ALLA BROCCOLINI with chicken. I told the waitress I had a shellfish allergy. The portion was a decent size. The chicken was cooked well, very moist, taste was decent. The pasta itself was just okay. I really lacked in depth layered flavors. By the time I left, I had blisters in the back and down my throat, typical response when something along the line has been cross contaminated with shellfish. I had to leave the restaurant and have my friends take care of my card and bill.
The service was meh. The waitress was nice.
I guess I was kind of expecting a better quality/experience for $20+ plates.
