Salt Fork State Park, Lore City OH

Played the golf course here on a beautiful day. Greens are in fabulous shape and are very difficult to read and judge speed due to the undulations. This course is not easy as the dog legs are numerous and there is no flat lies for second shots. Accuracy off the tee is a must. So many trees lining very well manicured fairways. The course is definitely a challenge. This state park course is a beast but taming it (which I did not) is a test of your skills. Hot dogs are overpriced.

The Lodge is in a Beautiful setting. Some rooms have picturesque views of the lakes and hillside. Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub. There is a rather large kids pool outside, but of course the outdoor pool is seasonal. There are lots of amenities here. Was there for a special outing and only ate banquet style, not in their restaurant. There is a bar there.
The park itself is very big! There are pavilions and activities available such as golf, putt putt, disc golf, a beach, a dog park, trails, a campground, cabins, a marina, hiking trails and more. BEAUTIFUL OHIO!

Wish it had more than just kid parks, but things to do for kids. Like activities that some parks and their naturist do.
All around enjoyed our short time there.

First time camping in a place like that and it was a lot of fun especially with the hiking and a lot of the Sasquatch theme.

We love to enjoy a beautiful family day at the beach, well maintained, bathrooms, picnic tables, playgrounds and pavilions. We love it here!

We love this park! We just finished our third camping trip for Labor Day.

The campground is one of the largest we go to but somehow so quiet. We love A loop. The campground beach puts others to shame. It's huge and the water is clean and it's not super deep. We spent two afternoons there.

We tried out some of the nature programs and the naturalist, John, was incredibly knowledgeable. We heard about snakes at the Nature Center and got to see a black rat snake.

That evening, we did the Bigfoot night hike and it was so fun! Learned a lot about how to look for Bigfoot and the history of sightings. We also heard a Barred Owl and a Great Horned Owl so that was really cool.

The next day we looked for critters in the creek and found a lot! Never saw a dragonfly nymph before! Also found a salamander, lots of crawfish and a green frog.

John made all the information easily digestible and the adults and kids enjoyed themselves equally!

Back to the campground, the showerhouses were clean with decent water pressure and hot water (unless someone flushes the toilet). They have very large showerhouses with 8 to 10 showers and washing machines.

Everyone at the camp store was very friendly. We loved the gem mining and found the $21 bag worth the money. Each kid that got one found a large geode. Very fun!

Overall, this park is amazing and we are so lucky to have it in Ohio!

The lodge is great, they have an indoor pool and hot tub and an outdoor pool. They have a sit down place to eat and a gaming area by the pool. They also have a snack bar by the outdoor pool, they do serve alcoholic beverages. The golf course is great and the trails are super fun, they also have horse trails. The beach is fun but can sometimes be crowded and sometimes the bathroom is not open over there. They do have a boat launch also and it is really fun to bring a kayak or canoe.

Awesome Place.

I guess soon this beautiful place will be ruined by Republicans allowing fracking. Sad. They must not want tourists for the parks in Ohio. They lost me if they frack.

First time that I've been to Salt Fork and wow did I wish I had made my reservation longer as there is so much to see and do. We stayed in a cabin on the hillside and a gorgeous view of the woods and the lake. Very comfortable amenities in the cabin. Matt made my stay awesome and I'm more than happy with his assistance. We will definitely be back but for a much longer stay. Beautiful trails and park. Loved seeing the deer and listening to all of the birds. Highly recommend.

The part of the park we saw was truly gorgeous! We played the Salt Fork Golf Course. Also beautiful but deceptively difficult. The greens were perfect as were most fairways (heavy rain last night). So many holes started up above the fairway and the greens were also typically an uphill climb. Worth scoring badly to see the 18 lovely holes.

A very beautiful place. The trails are scenic and full of character. The beach was clean and it looked great.

Very nice state park. We were in loop C very quiet and the shower house was kept clean. Site c1 how ever really isn't designed for large 5th wheel. We couldn't open 1 slide all the way nor the awning.

We come here every year and love this place! We take our boat and love the lake. If you don't want it to be too crowded.go during the week!

The park itself was won d wonderful, the camping the campers beach was great. It has one of the best shower houses I've been in with a washer and dryer.
The Hosack trail was disappointing, couldn't get to the waterfall, shame on the park. They surely knew people was attemp to get there, which looked dangerous.
The 2 stars was for that reason, like I said the park in all other areas were great!
