Sassy Sal Charters, Port Clinton OH

Back in July I booked a charter with sassy sal They took us out knowing that they had not been catching walleye on the day only 3 was caught that was a Saturday so tge next Monday I Called and with one of the owners and let her know they only had us in only 12-15 feet of water and the last hour took out about 30 feet knowing there was no fish to be caught and she was very unsympathetic and had a really bad attitude and to top it off the first mate had the nerve to pass around a Tip Bucket NEVER WILL I BOOK A CHATER WITH THEM AGAIN
I just wanted a discount on another trip she was very nasty and side NO SO BE CAREFUL WITH BOOKING ON THIS CHARTER

We had a blast! Mark and Andy were great. I appreciated the time they took to help all 6 of us fish. Sal has a wonderful set up to take care of your fishing trip and fish cleaning when your done. We had a good day with total of 31 fish to eat. God bless you all!

Fishing was a little slow but the first mate and captain worked hard to put us on fish. 1st mate (Spike) was super personable despite being a Giants fan. I ended up taking 3 walleye between 15-19” home. I would come again.

I usually give these guys a 4 or a 5 rating except for this year. We had arrived at around 5: 45 am and placed our tackle in line and waited to board the boat at around 6: 30. There were already 5 or 6 people who had already placed their tackle in line also. At around 6: 00, a group of 7 or 8 people showed up and put their tackle at the front of the line. When we asked what they were doing, they replied that they had placed their bait bucket the night before at the front of the line and someone had moved their bucket on them. They stated this was an acceptable practice by the locals and was approved by the business. This was the first time I ran into this issue and I, along with everyone else standing in line, found this to be unfare. This practice also had to cause alot of problems with people who are not familiar with it. Not sure if I will continue to use a business that shows favoritism for locals over people who drive across the state just to have someone cut in front of them. Other then that, The Captin and First Mate of the boat was very friendly and helpful.

Very unique fishing experience, the weather made the outing rough for a while but the captain kept us as dry and on as calm of waters as he could. The first mate is a great help and very enthusiastic.

Took a perch headboat trip. I get it that they can’t make the fish bite but I do expect they will make a good faith effort to find fish. That didn’t happen. We motored out a ways and dropped anchor. No fish. We made a short move and dropped anchor. No fish. That was it.
They brought us all back in one piece, I guess that’s something.

We had a great time today, my sister win the biggest catch, the crew is good people and friendly, for sure we will comeback and do every year!

Great charter to go with, they got us on at a last minutes notice and the captain and first mate were very knowledgeable and great guys. Highly recommended

I am going to give this 5 stars even though I thought the price was a little high. The first mate and captain were helpful knowledgeable and great fisherman. The experience of a nice day on the lake was almost enough for the price and actually catching some nice sized walleye was just a bonus.

The best head boat charter experience I've ever been on. Captain Brian and first mate mark a hard-working and very personable. Use them 3 days in a row. Had a great time and caught fish.

This is a great group.this was our third trip with them over the years and will be back. This last trip was really good (9/13/20). They got us on the fish right away while most other boats struggled. Fish cleaning is fast and reasonable.tip that guy BTW.he was busting out fish! Our first mate Rob was excellent! Very attentive and had good tips for those that haven't fished for perch. Boat was in great shape too. Thanks for another wonder charter!

Jeff and Jenn are some of the nicest people you'll ever come across and the captain's on the boats know where all the hot spots are at always catch fish with these guys

First time and I have to say it is quit freaking awesome! The people who run the boat are super friendly and I had the best time out here with them!

We booked a private charter on the investigator yesterday for my birthday and I had such a blast. The captain and first mate truly treated us great it was well worth the money I will definitely be using them more. We walked away with 18 pounds of perch the was the most fun I have had in a long time. I want to thank everyone at sassy sal for being so good and friendly to us to my new friends on the investigator I will see you guys again. And to my buddy james for referring them to me thanks man so much

THE best fishing trip in Port Clinton, everyone is associated with the boats are top notch. You wanna fish these are the guys

Dropped off fish for cleaning at 3: 30. Workers first stated would take 2 hours to clean. Then changed it to 3 hours. We came back to pick up fish before three hours at 5: 45. The business hours say they close at 7: 00. They were closed and no one was there so we could pick up our 38# of perch. This is bad business and dishonest. You stole our fish!
We spent $490 for 7 people to catch those perch. If you didnt want to clean them, you should have told us you weren't taking any more. We would have gone elsewhere. We are not local and cannot come back tomorrow to pick the fish up. We have previously done business with you but never again. AND we will pass on the word about your dishonesty so everyone knows not to trust what you say.
Update 8/9/20: Sassy Sal has addressed this issue and stated they were willing to ship the fish to us at no charge and would address the problem with the staff that closed up early. Fortunately a friend was in the area and picked up the fish for us. Thank you!
