I had a junky tree in a tight spot; Ivan and his crew first sent me an ETA text. Great! Then the crew actually showed up when he said they would! Fantastic. Ivan scaled that tree and manually took it down piece by piece. He’s an artist! He and the whole crew were respectful, efficient, communicative and kind. A great load was taken off my mind having the tree removed and having it done so well? Priceless! Way to go Team Ivan and Savatree!

We contracted with Save a Tree to remove numerous bushes, along with a tree. They were also suppose to grind the stumps, but we have been told twice they would out. They have not showed up. Last week we were told we would receive a text when they completed the schedule. A week later and we still have not heard from them.

I don’t know if there’s enough space to write at all here! They were courteous, asked what I wanted, did the job, asked me if there was anything else, cleaned up, after, were personable, and good representatives of the company! Their names were Jonathan, Hunter, Christian, and Evan! Can’t thank you enough for your efficiency and kindness, and great job on our tree. The first one is the before, and the one on the right is the after their great job!

Our home is surrounded by HUGE 60 year old silver maple trees. I've had them trimmed twice in the past 30 years I've lived here, but it's time yet again.

So. I looked for arborists (wanting expert tree care). SavATree seemed to fit the bill.

I went to their website, and set up an appointment for their arborist to come by my house & give me a quote for the job.

On the appointment date, no arborist. I waited an hour, then called their office. He was running late (& hadn't bothered to contact me). He showed up about 30 minutes later.

The arborist did an EXCELLENT job of evaluating our 9 big silver maple trees, pointing out the work they'd recommend doing. He prepared & emailed me a quote while still onsite, recommending a few changes to help the job fit my budget.

So far, so good, huh?

Well.after getting a couple more quotes, I decided that SavATree was the company to best do the job for my budget.

While the arborist had promised the staff that would do my tree job (2 climbers, plus a certain number of "groundies. "), I couldn't recall how many groundies would be onsite, nor was the staffing level specified on the estimate.

Sooooo. I emailed him (& a couple other folks on his original estimate). That was on the morning of 8/17/23.

After no reply, I texted his cell phone directly the evening of 8/18 (Friday).

He replied early in the morning of 8/21 (Monday), saying that he could certainly revise the estimate to specify the staff provided for my tree job.

. And that's the last I heard from him.

I even texted him later that day to touch base, but no reply.

Sooooo.early this morning (8/23), I emailed the arborist, the other folks on the estimate, and the Branch Manager for the Dayton SavATree office.

No reply.

Disappointing, to say the least. It's now 6 days after I requested a clarification to the estimate. NO REPLY.

I eventually did an online search to find the name & contact info for the NY-based CEO of SavATree (corporate). I emailed him late one night, and had a reply from him early the following morning (followed very shortly by multiple contacts from the Dayton SavATree folks)

That worked magic, and got things rolling again.

UPDATE 9/6/23 -

The 6 man SavATree crew left here about an hour ago, and did an excellent job on trimming the trees, as detailed in the original estimate.

They were on time, highly professional, and did the work properly, with all necessary safety gear.

My trees look much better now than they have in years, and the removal of dead limbs (some of them 20+ feet long & ~1 ft diameter) should help things be safer at our home.

The reason I ultimately decided to go with SavATree was the personal attention that their arborist gave to the trees when assessing the job (pointing out potential problems now and "down the road), and the fact that he actively engaged me as a potential customer.asking me my thoughts about the job and my priorities. He didn't just vaguely glance at the trees (as did the "lowest bidder. ")

SavATree did NOT give the lowest of the three quotes that I obtained, and that was not a problem at all. SavATree quoted what I felt was the BEST combination of work for my trees. One significant factor was their arborist's detailed assessment of my trees, and their offer to trim the two dwarf apple trees that had been cruelly ignored in our front yard since my wife & I planted them a couple decades ago.

While things started out a bit "rocky" due to slow communication from the arborist, SavATree did an excellent job on my trees.

I have been using SavATree for several years and I am always pleased with their service. The professional arborist is always able to provide expert advice. The tree trimming and tree removal is always excellent and clean up is thorough. I have recommended SavATrree to several neighbors.

The good: the senior arborist who initially evaluated my issue was very professional and knowledgeable. The office manager was extremely professional and proactive in communicating to me. The bad: when the crews showed up at my house to do the work, not a single individual came to the door or spoke to me about the job. They came, they worked, they left, with no communication whatsoever, not even by the Branch Manager who was present. No receipt, no contract, no anything but a bill by email, which didn't allow me to ask any questions about the work. A training course in customer communications might do wonders.

We started out with Arbor Experts so we have been customers for years. We have Kevin Granger as our arborist, he is great, he takes time to listen to our concerns and gives us his recommendation on what needs to be done. The office staff is very helpful when making appointments.

SavATree came out August 14 with Jonathon and crew to tree our trees. They were very courteous, checked several times to make sure they were trimming the trees as we expected and cleaned all the branches up and the yard looked like they were never there. They did a great job for reasonable price.

We have worked with Kevin Granger. Wow! He is a wealth of information; advice. Kevin really knows about every tree; shrub; insect. What is most important to us is that he respects the environment and will do anything to save our trees.
Savatree is so lucky to have him. I have referred5 neighbors to him and one of them said” great customer service that you don’t see anymore. The other 4 neighbors have thanked me over and over for the referral.
Thanks Kevin…….

I was just eating at a restaurant and 4 of your employees were eating there too. One of them spilled an entire cup of beverage and they all just sat there laughing. We finally told the restaurant staff who cleaned it up. Not a single one of your employees (wearing your company shirts!) thanked the staff or apologized! I find this very rude and disrespectful! SHAME ON THEM! And BAD BAD PR for your company!

My son has used this company to trim his trees in the past so he recommended them to me. I had Tim Rambeau come out today to look at our tree. My neighbor's tree has been dropping branches on my truck and I didn't want to do the same to my other neighbors with my tree. Tim gave his honest opinion that my tree is actually in good shape and could wait a year or two before pruning. He could have scared me with the "sky is falling" (my neighbor's tree), but instead offered to save me money for this year. I probably wait as right now I'm spending a ton on cancer treatments. Thanks Tim for your honest appraisal.
