SENATE Blue Ash

A very unique and simple menu including duck fat fries, mussels, roasted marrow bone, ribeye, and their "famous" hot dogs.
Beeautiful restaurant inconspicuously tucked in Summit Park, where I enjoy walking when in town. There was a large gathering in the semi private room with some carry over into the main seating area. All seemed to be enjoying their meals. I chose to sit inside due to the humidity from a rainy day, they offer outdoor seating as well. I asked for anything special and they offered a vegan take on tomato basil soup, which had great texture and flavor. I wanted the wood fired ribeye but the had an issue recently and the wood fire option was not available, they offered an alternate cooking method but I choose to try the Chiken Tikka grilled cheese. Sandwich was huge and had fabulous flavor. Chicken perfectly cooked, sourdough flavor was great only thing I would have improved was thinner slice and crispier grill on the bread to offset the moisture of the tikka sauce.

On this particular visit, I didn’t have food but I’ve had it before and it’s delicious. My friend and I stopped in for a cocktail. We sat outside and caught up as we haven’t seen each other for a long time. Always fine I recommend it!

Senate is always a highlight to go to. When we have people over we tend to take them to Senate more consistently than any other restaurant in the area. Service is always great, and the true highlight is their delicious food. Their signature item are their hot dogs, but if you should go there, my recommendation is to forgo the hot dogs and instead order the best Poutine in the state. It is absolutely heavenly, and the portion size as of September 2023 feeds 2 adults easily. The mussels, duck fat fries, lobster mac and cheese and a few other things lend themselves to be ordered in the group and shared. That being said, their mains are fantastic as well. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
And they are located next to a nice park, parking is no problem, and if you should be there in the nicer season you can go for a nice walk after your meal.

I didn't get a chance to take photos of the food, because the kitchen caught on fire and we had to evacuate the restaurant. The staff was super nice and got us our food and drinks to eat outside while the alarm went off and the fire department came. They have a DORA, so we were able to take our drinks as well. The fire alarm went off right when we got our food, so they gave us our meal for free for the trouble.

The chicken tikka grilled cheese was a bit spicier than expected, and I would classify it more as a melt than a grilled cheese, but it was super tasty and the bread was crunchy and delicious. My friend got the Lindsey Lohan hotdog and was really happy with it. They don't usually like topped hot dogs, but they loved this one!

Great food but a little pricey. I had a kimchi and short rib hot dog that was delicious but cost $14.

Good hot dogs. Duck fat fries were no different than any other fries. Dipping sauce was good. But for 4 dogs, one order of fries, 3 pops, & an iced tea, the bill was astronomically expensive. SEVENTY- FIVE dollars with tip is just plain ridiculous for lunch. Period. Two adults, two kids. No kids' discounted dogs available. Same price as normal menu price. Liked the enamel-ware dishes. But these prices are too out of line to return. Especially for HOT DOGS for LUNCH.

Food was Great, but Pricey! Atmosphere was amazing and the staff were very accommodating. Thank you for a good time!

Unique gourmet hot dogs in the nice Summit Park area. Ask about their Dog of the Day and don't forget a side of Duck Fries.

Food was good, but over priced. No way a hot dog should cost $14 without sides. Mamas salad. Wings. Duck fat fries. Trailer Park hot dog. Gyro. If they were 20% less expensive, I'd up my rating.

I ordered online and when I got there the staff had no idea I had ordered anything. I assume they rushed my ordered because everything was undercooked and obviously hastily thrown together. It's extremely disappointing because the last time things were great but I can't recommend a restaurant that's hit or miss this starkly.

Cute fun restaurant with delish crazy inspired hot dog dishes! Had the K-pop, and it was outstanding! Great beer and wine selections.

I love the modern farmhouse feel of the restaurant. The food was universally liked, and the bread pudding was incredible.

Could go for a little (lot) less truffle oil on the lobster mac. Couldn't taste anything else. Two orders of it and both parties agreed. The service was great and loved the beer but between the pot stickers and mac, likely won't eat there again unfortunately.

Food was decent but over priced for the quality (reminded me of a Frisch's). Biggest issue was my meal had been served in a chipped bowl that cut my finger. Reported to waitress but no attempt to resolve. Went home, slapped on a bandaid and here we are.

Great service, concrete benches outside a bit uncomfortable after a while. Otherwise, good experience.

I had never been here before. They had a chicken Parm sandwich for their special that was as big as my face. It had some spice, but the house marinara sauce was outstanding. The bacon fat fries were amazing as well. Also tried the poutine fries and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! I will definitely go back!
