Never even knew this was so close to me. Such a gorgeous 60 foot statue of Mary hand made by a man. I was at a bridal shower in a building near to her and she is gorgeous. Going to make time to go back. Their is a story to this and I need to learn of it. But this is a very nice place. The gift shop was closed when I was there, but it was full of jewelry and artifacts of religion and life. Very very nice place to visit.

I took my family there after sunset. It was very dark and impossible to see anything around on the large field next to the parking lot. I knew from other reviews you can get disoriented easily at night; Fortunately before 8: 30 PM they turned the lights on and we could see the statue at a distance. It is impressive; as a mosaic artist I certainly appreciate the effort and time was put into making such a huge piece of art. The fact that it was just my family there, and we could enjoy it in peace was a bonus. We did not know the chapel was open and did not want to cross any boundaries, so we did not enter. Because I was not able to donate on the site, I went online and made a small donation. We will certainly return to see it in daylight to properly appreciate the colors and craftmanship.

This place is powerful the story of getting her here gave me chills. Pat was a wonderful woman enjoyed our conversation

Go once a year for fireworks that are always very good and get to meet ppl from around the world
