Serve City reviews
8I lived in the shelter for about 2 months and though it's better than being on the streets, there's a lot of work to be done in treating everyone fairly and not giving certain people special privileges. During the extreme heat wave a majority of us were kicked out from 9-4 for about a week, which they claimed was due to health concerns from construction but some people were allowed to stay. They have a small set of rules that mean immediate discharge from the shelter when broken, and a few people were permitted to break those rules for seemingly no reason while others were kicked out to fend for themselves on the streets. I'll admit it's a lot better than other shelters in the area, and they have a wide range of services available to residents to help them get back on their feet. But if you have an option to stay with a friend out of state or with family it's genuinely better to do that. It's not in a safe area, and if you're transgender they will not enforce consequences for people disrespecting you. Also would advise against turning in contraband, because I did when I got there and they lost both things I turned in. They offered to ship them to me if they find them but we'll see what happens, if they haven't found my stuff a month from now I'll be posting an update to my review. Dani, AJ, and Ed are the kindest members of staff, the others have a tendency to be unfair and straight up rude without reason.
I happen to be all over Southwestern Ohio, and let me tell you about how great the staff is here. Let's not go into exact Details, But Danielle, very first person I spoke to and dealt with in person, very professional, polite, not to mention, amazing at how she treats folks, next up, is Amber Smith I believe is her name, She is Shelter operations Manager, Wow, talk about A lifesaver literally, and last I got to personally speak, and hands on delt with A. J. Also, very polite, and professional, and liked Vws. Thanks you folks are amazing.
My cousin passed and she always would help the ones that needed the most so thats what i did God bless the one that bless others.
Very friendly and helpful volunteers! Lots of sweets and meats! Need more fruits & veggies though.
Great place helpful hearts, but be prepared to wait a vary long time. PS quick tip bring a folding chair.
I give 5 Stars and give much Respect to any place that's helping people in need. It's a Beautiful thing!
If i could give zero stars i would! I used to volunteer here with church. Now im homless brought my mail in stating i got approved for food stamps in butler county but my mailing address is different. Bc im homeless. And i called. I spoke to a lady in charge who said the mail would work fine with what i said about being homeless. The guy behind the food counter couldnt wait to tell me no. Ive never been more ashamed to have helped a place just for it to turn and bite me in the butt. Boooooo, defund this place. They dont care about people starving.
Great place wish I didn't have to hear about UFOs buy been many times before and the UFO story was a 1st time
