Shaker Heights Public Library reviews
15Friendly staff, tons of books and media, printers you can pay to use, and more in a big beautiful building.
Was there for two hours in the Children's section to help my son with his Social Studies project. It was two ladies their that was TREMENDOUSLY HELPFUL. GREAT, KIND, AND HELPFUL staff.
I’ve been going to? ? ? Since I was an adolescent. Today I brought my 3 & 4 yr old nephews to the park and they had fun on the playground with the other children. Inside the library has been modernized and it’s so quiet you can hear the faint flipping of a book. I love this place.
I renewed my acquaintance in recent days as I have not been here in years due to Covid and other reasons. Must say I was a bit bowled over. The library has been completely renovated and in a word looks. AWESOME! Open, airy & inviting, systems old and new well incorporated. I will be spending more time here again.
Memories. Went to school there for K -6. It was Moreland Elementary in the 40s & 50s. Played many baseball games on that parking lot and tossed many snowballs from the grassy areas. The grassy areas were called triangles and each triangle was dedicated to a certain grade level. Yes. Snowballs were allowed!
Moreland was the only school with a cafeteria and a super large gymnasium. Major badminton tournaments were held there. The stage was full sized where we put on the musical " Toyland. "
Lived on Pennington. I remember asking my Dad when he came home from WW II (LST -1089) if he would be staying home this time.jrf
New renovations of the library is nice clean and neat. Helpful staff with anything you need.
Went to library for Bible Study. Very clean. Polite helpful people working there. First time there but not the last.
I'll return after the renovations. Unfortunately it was too loud and there were no quiet study rooms available.
My ccontacts with the employees of this library is so remarkably positive that off is almost unbelievable. I credit it with my sanity in the virus time.thank you to all those. At the phones and those who came to the car. 9pp666
The new and improved library is fabulous. Walking in you see a clean modern design. Very, very cool.
I've been going here since I was 6 (1997). They're renovating a lot now, everything is well organized and easy to find, staff is helpful and kind. And the playground next to it is well managed just as I remember. Masks are required of course and sanitizer is available. It's a good place to check out books, movies and music. Or a nice quiet space to study. Computers are available upon request.
It's a nice library with nice staff. It's being renovated, I was surprised at the new look since I haven't been in here since before the pandemic.
Shaker library usually has a good selection of literature, wonderful and friendly staff. Especially the children's librarians.
All books can't wait till it's fully open again it's one of my favorite libraries. And everyone is so nice.
Love this library! Wonderful collection of books for everyone. They have a nice little play area for the toddlers near the book section. They have story time for kids during the weekdays, would be great if they did on the weekends too.
