Shale Creek is awesome. I hardly post reviews, and will not uptalk a facility for no reason. Starting with the proshop staff, either the head pro or the assistant, was extremely accommodating. I work in the the golf industry so I “get it”. I came with a buddy for a 12pm tee time, in December, and I could tell we were likely the last tee time. I asked if we could take a cart for the front 9 and walk the back so we wouldn’t unnecessarily keep staff waiting, he insisted that we took a cart for both 9s because “he would be there anyway”, which translates to me that the customers are far more important than the staff getting out an hour early. I appreciate that.

The course layout itself is outstanding. No two holes are the same, and 0 holes are boring. It has a bit of that member advantage, with some holes you would like to see twice, but with the GPS on the cart assisting you, you’re at fault for poor course management. Course conditions have been great both times I’ve played. They take care of this place.

Overall, this was an easy 5 star review. Much of it having to do with the proshop staff and the course layout. Good job Shale Creek.

For $65 I wish the green were in better condition…slow, bumpy and inconsistent. The rest of the course is in great shape.

Last tee time was 6pm but driving range closed. Never responded to email inquiring about driving range hours.

Played Shale Creek for the first time yesterday 8/7. A friend and I met my brother and nephew to play 18. Shale was half way between us, about 1 hr 30 min for both of us. We were not disappointed. The course was in great shape and well maintained, staff was friendly. Alot of unique holes and was fun to play.

A really nice golf course that is well maintained. Lots of fairway and the rough is playable. This is not any easy course as there is lots of creeks and some ponds in play so you have some decisions to make to go for it or lay up. The only downside was pace of play on a weekday when we played. We had to wait on two groups ahead us all morning.

Truly a great experience for the money. Greens are well kept up, fairways are aggressively designed. I highly suggest playing here.

After a nice afternoon of golfing with my son on Mother’s Day. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the clubhouse.

Shale Creek was a excellent golf course, just watch out for the cow manure smell late in the season. The bar is nice and the beer is good.

1st time ever playing a USGA course, it really let's you know where you stand as a player. But its beautiful place and well kept.

Good layout, however, very average condition of course for Mid October. Not worth the $54 price tag. Too high for a weekday for this condition.

Have never been here, so not sure but seems to pop up and don't even know the place. Thought it was on Hamilton Rd but had another name

Played here for the first time in early October. Paid $62 for 18 w/ cart. Range was included which was a nice touch. Played with a 3 of my buddies. We’re all 15-20 handicappers. Condition of course was alittle disappointing. I realize it was the end of the season, but fairways and greens had patch areas that you would not expect for the price we paid. Pace of play we slow on the front. We were behind some hackers that slowed us to a 3 hour and 15 min front 9. Luckily they didn’t play the back and we finished the back in 2 hours and 15 min. Also I group behind us that was blasting music we could hear from 100+ yards away. Not the courses’ fault I know. It had just rained so Greens were soft but blazing fast. All in all, the course presented a tough challenge with plenty of hazards, elevated greens, and tricky holes locations. But was definitely most disappointed with the patchy areas. If you wanna pay $60+ for a nice course, go to boulder creek

Nice course. Not for walkers as there is huge distance from green to next tees. Good layout but greens could use some TLC.people are fixing ball Mark's on greens so getting pockmarked

This course is definitely not for the novice or amateur golfer! I'm basically a new golfer because I haven't played in years and just recently began playing again. There are a couple of obstacles that you can't play around so expect to lose some balls. At the time that I went the driving range was included in the place and that was a nice surprise! But, as stated earlier if you don't have a solid golf game, you should probably expect a day full of lose balls and frustration!
