I love to go kayaking here! Always very peaceful, and plenty of little islands you can stop and hang out on. Water is super clear.

Beautiful spot with clear water and no gasoline powered boats. Great fishing and exploring! There are pieces from the abandoned lime plant that are scattered about and add to the story this body of water tells. I kayaked and my wife was on her stand up paddle board. We enjoyed SRQ very much and hope to return soon. Even if it is 2 hours away.

Could not even go fishing here. Require a permit even with an Ohio fishing lisences. Money hungry village. The ODNR sign is at the road so we thought it was available to the public with just a fishing lisences is why we even pulled in.

Nice quiet place, paths need a bit more maintenance, lots of thistles. Nice benches. Paths placed seemingly at random and people have made their own right over some oddly placed chain link fences in the middle of the park. You must seek out and pay the local police to use the water and even then only for fishing and boating. No swimming here.

Boat ramp was good, the quarry itself is clean with interesting features. The fishing was not ideal, but it may need different techniques than we used.

Absolutely love it here. So peaceful. Good spot to get clear your mind and chill, if needed. ️ Kids loved it. Found a geo rock!

Read the reviews prior. Its an Old Quarry. There is industrial leftovers and a whole side section with active industrial still going on.

They have plans on fixing it up. Covid etc. Your money isn't going to waste.

Remember to get your permit. You can get online now through gibsonburg website, town hall Monday to Friday 8-5pm or at police station.

No swimming, wading. No motor boats. Let's keep it safe and clean.

This place has beautiful water. After seeing post after post about this place I had to visit. It took us roughly 3 hours to paddle around whole perimeter and interior islands. It was amazing to be able to see so far down in areas. Also depending on what part of the lake you were it was like being in totally different environments with rock ledges along the side. Swamp style with trees in the water, island paradise with the sand island.

Unfortunately its a 2 hour drive for me. So I can't go right back out. But would love to revisit soon.

If you have the opportunity you should come and see it for yourself.
