Skipper's River Cafe and Steamboat Marina, New Richmond OH

We go to skippers every September 18 to toss rises in the river for my mom on her birthday. She loved the river and boating and new richmond so much. I will forever deliver her roses here every year as if she was here on her birthday. Skippers was her place. You could not beat it in her eyes. The waitress thought it was a beautiful idea and all the ones before every prior year.
The price of the food is a little steep. It's bar food. But it's the only restaurant floating on the river so they can be a tad pricey. The service has always been great. As a new richmond home town girl I will always support any small business in my area. For me skippers it's not a restaurant, it's memories, childhood dreams, family, and a staple in my small home town. Stop in and have a drink and a bite.

Skippers is truly Clermont County's Key West. Open air bar and dining deck facing west makes it the perfect place to watch the sunset. Even better. They make the best wings around. Love the Jamaica jerk sauce. Highly recommend

Nice spot to eat have a drink and relax. I was with a rather large group and the service was excellent. Plan to come back again!

I had never been there before I had the chicken wrap which you can make the way you like it it was the best chicken wrap I've ever had and I have had many the view from the bar food area was gorgeous as the sun was setting and glistening on the waves as they rolled in I had the best time they had great music in the background reggae and other alternative type instrumental music and had a great Vibe the service was impeccable and everyone was so friendly and welcoming I will definitely come again and I recommend that you stop by when you get a chance

What a great river restaurant in a great river town! Well worth the short drive east on SR52. The Ohio River is beautiful!

The world is a better place with Skippers in it. Good food, good service, live music, great atmosphere on the river. Like a little paradise in the summer.

We had just finished some hot, sweaty work and were tired, hungry and miles from home. Passing through New Richmond, we resolved to stop for food but didn't want to make spectacles of ourselves with our disheveled appearance in a dining room full of civilized people. Skipper's, with its outdoor dining area with a fresh breeze coming off the river was a perfect choice. In no time we were hunkered over baskets of fish and chips with beer. A great way to finish a productive day.

The food was overpriced for the quality or quantity. Live music was ok, but so loud talking was impossible.

Definitely one of my favorite places to hang out. Awesome bartenders and great atmosphere. Only con I'd say is food prices here are a bit high.

The owners have to be the most clueless people on the planet. I thought judybthe previous owner was clueless. These guys are worse. So let's review they pull the boat out of the river for repairs. They get it back in 2 1/2 months after the normal early April opening date. Then. They finally open but no one answers the phone so we go to the web site. Not the place has been closed for 2 months that they are normally open. Would you think maybe they update the menu on the web site. Nope. Look at the pictures 4 or 5 pictures that customers posted. Not the owners but customers from 4 and 5 years ago. So you go to the menu tab. One picture burgers are $9. Next picture they are $6. Well which is it. Winds are 6 for $6 one place 10 for 12.95 another pic. Humm. Ok let's look at the hours on the picture. They advertise lunch specials. $6. Next picture says they open at 3pm every day? So which is it. Do you have a lunch special or not open till 3pm. Amazing. Sitting home waiting for the river to rise and too lazy to even update the menu. If the web site is that bad. Seriously how well can it be run. Today. Saturday they are supposed to be open. Noon. You call. No answer. It wins my award for the worst run restaurant ever. I hope Joe got cash when he sold it because I can smell default payment from the new owners. My suggestion. Find another place. 3 sandwiches. Chicken burger BLT. WHAT HAPPENED to the fish? Then they have chili for the nachos? Here's an idea put a soup and the chili you have for nachos on the menu. Humm you have chicken tenders and mini corn dogs for the kids. Here's an idea. Put them on as an appetizer for adults. Seriously. A restaurant with 3 sandwiches. Why even both. Sell it to someone that knows what they are doing. 2023 UPDATE. WELL THEY OPENED TODAY. 2 months late hahaa. Better late than never usually in this case better to never open. Phone still does not work. And look at the menu on the website. They been closed for 7 months and still have a menu o the site from the old owners 3 years ago. The worst run bar on the planet. Just gets worse and worse

This place has come a long way! It always had an interesting vibe cuz it's literally floating on the river but now it's cleaned up. Owners are super friendly!

Check their Facebook page if u want accurate hours of operation. We’re boaters and had almost given up on this location. But they’ve come back around. Service was great. Josie is a great bartender! Good bar food. Perfectly cold bottled beers right on the verge of icy. Perfect place to be on a sunny day.
