Wish we had read the reviews prior to having Dr Smeltzer do my sons wisdom teeth. His bed side manner is horrible. The bottom of the instruction sheet they give you after surgery that lists their number to call with questions or concerns; should actually say, if you have questions or concerns after your procedure, don’t bother calling because Dr Smeltzer does not care. I called our dentist to ask that he not recommend this man to his patients On a good note, our dentist offered to help

You couldn’t PAY ME to go back into this place. I had the WORST experience with Dr Smeltzer getting my wisdom teeth out. I’m not the type of person to be picky with doctors or even write reviews… I have had unbearable pain for 12 DAYS and counting after getting my wisdom teeth removed. I went into his office to see if something was wrong and he was SO RUDE! I’ve never had a doctor talk down to me like he did. He didn’t answer a single one of my questions. He left me crying, and was almost yelling at me. He turned every question back on me. Words cannot explain how bad of an experience I have had with him. You should not be having this pain after so long and he made me feel so much worse. It makes me sick to think that this man was in my mouth. If you’re having anxiety about getting your surgery or procedure done— GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Trust me!

Incompetent and Rude Office

We had an afternoon appointment here specifically around our kid being home on college break. The morning of the appointment the office realized that they did not have the X-rays they needed. They then tried to reach our original dentist but couldn’t reach them.

Instead of letting us know that morning, they waited until we arrived for the appointment. They explained that they didn’t have what they needed, but that they could do another full set of x-rays right now (not free, of course).

The first desk staff was very rude and short with us, emphasizing “well, we called them TWICE”. Thankfully after a while another office person came to help who was more apologetic and kinder, and took time to actually do some research to see if they had the x-rays somewhere. No luck, we would either have to get new x-rays done or reschedule (on one of my kid’s other college breaks, I suppose).

Ironically our regular dentist called us back within 30 minutes after we left and apologized profusely, and confirmed that they had sent the x-rays over 12 days prior. If only Oral & Facial Surgery had contacted us, we could’ve remedied the issue before setting foot in the office.

Yeah… no. We will be finding a different oral surgeon to work with.
