Sojourners Counseling Services, Mt Vernon OH

This place has been a Godsend. Everyone there is amazing. Kyle is The BEST. Deb is awesome. Jason and Julia kudos to you. I’ve been coming here for many years. When our last family counselor actually told us we are worthless Kyle ensured me that was not true. He has been my families hero. He has taken us out of despair and into hope I highly recommend Sojourners to anyone out there. My heartfelt thanks goes out to them. God bless you all

Me and my kids go here! We absolutely live them all and the friendly faces! If I could give more stars I would I recommend this place to anyone looking for a counselor and they have someone to talk with for just about any type of situation and they try to pair you with the best fit! 10 out of 10!

Its one thing to write a review for an experience at a restaurant but for counseling involving your child, I'm sad that this is my only route. I've called and emailed this office about our experience and I've had no feedback. There was no effort to make things right and maybe this will help other parents make a better decision. I do not think they are qualified to be counseling parents or children when it comes to behavioral issues like ADD or ADHD. There were false accusations and diagnosis within 15 minutes of sitting there. There was harmful and disturbing suggestions of how we handled medications for our 8 year old that was horribly unprofessional. I was judged, I was criticized, I was told that whatever I was doing was not working. To sum it up, I'd stay clear of this office and find someone better qualified and equipped to help you or your child.

Horrible experience. Instead of trying to ask questions and get to know our kid, they judged and shamed us and blamed us on his ADHD. She said we gave up on medication too early. There was nothing biblical or Christ like about the session. My wife felt so judged that she left early, and of course refused to give any sort of refund. I do not recommend this place if you are trying to find an alternative to medicating your child or looking for actual counseling. Might as well go to your family doctor and get put on a drug.

First available appointment was almost 3months later. Went to a couple sessions; did not reschedule after the 3rd. Months later, I call to try to schedule again; first available was going to be months later, so I didn’t bother! Have since, tried to schedule again & it has been 3 weeks leaving messages and then was told they would have to look into the schedule and call me back. Glad I’m not needing immediate or urgent attention because I most certainly would have pulled the trigger by now!

This place did nothing for us. They are just a waste of time. My son went here 3 times and they said he was fine. Which isnt the case at all. He didn't even have 3 full appointments. In the middle of his "3" appointment they had me come in and told me he was done and he was good now. Well here we are months later and he is asking me to find him a new counselor. The people at this office have done nothing but harass me about a bill which his father's insurance is to cover since its primary. But they keep calling me about it and I have given them his information multiple times.

I've been too a lot of counseling places in my life but this place is like night and day compared to them. Everyone is so nice. As soon as I walked in I felt relaxed and comfortable. Debbie the receptionist is so nice and tries her best to make you comfortable. My therapist is amazing and always helps me in ways no other counselor has. Overall it's a wonderful place.
