Southside Diner, Mt Vernon OH

The lady that waited on out table was very nice, polite and courteous. I left her a 15 dollar tip because I love me dome gravey and biscuits. Good food

This is a old restaurant locally owned and if you are in town and need a meal you know where to stop by. Amazing dine in with lot of great food to choose from and desserts are something to ask for

Went to the diner, it was crowded and clean. It took about ten minutes for a waitress to come to our table. The menu was lengthy but self explaining. We ordered our food and it came out quick. The food was very good, the staff were good, the atmosphere was welcoming and downhome (friendly, not stuffy). We will definitely eat here again.

Food is always hot and fresh, service is always good, love the atmosphere, been coming here for years, never disappointed, I drive up from Columbus.

Old fashioned, hometown kind of breakfast diner that will certainly fill your belly and warm your soul without breaking the bank. Service was great, as usual, and the food came out fairly fast even with a bustling morning crowd. I got the "Blue Plate Special" - 2 eggs, scrambled, hash browns, sausage links and toast. All of which hit the spot! The only reason I have not given them a 5 stars is the lack of panache in the breakfast menu, a fusion of something unique and avant that strives to reach a rung above the run-of-the-mill eatery. Solid choice for a quick bite, or gathering with the family. Been here many times and will be back if I am in the area!

The place is old fashioned and a great place to be. It's like when you walk through its does it like a time machine. Waiters are amazing and very helpful. I recommend the blue plate special, you wouldn't regret it.

Cold food if you get tea you pay only coffee free with breakfast.wow.i got bacon cheese omelette which was 2 scrambled eggs with a piece of hard bacon in it no cheese nothing.expensive cold food.stay home.

Very charming diner with excellent food and great service. A full menu gives you choices of a variety of foods from Greek salads to patty melts. I've had several items from the menu with my favorite being the meatloaf platter.

They have Amazing pie I had the reeceecup pie. The have daily lunch specials. They are pretty busy for lunch and still can get in and out in an hour pretty easily. If you are in Mt Vernon you have to give them a try.

The real Mccoy burger is to DIE FOR! I drive 2 hours once a week just for that burger specifically. This place is AMAZING!

Been there 4/5times now foods always good waitress are on it.highly recommend going if you haven't been.plus side also clean bathrooms.

I go Fridays to meet some friends, food is always good and pretty consistent. I typically get the blue plate but was real hungry. I ended up getting the gus buster and wow was it a lot of food. It was cooked just the way I like it but that was a lot of food. Think twice before you get it. The blue plate is plenty of food for a good price.

Didn't give me the right hashbrowns. They put a bunch of toppings on I didn't order to hid the flavor, they tasted as if they to em out the freezer and put them on the skillet. The jumbo shrimp was small and tasteless. At less they got my drink.

I love it! Great atmosphere, Good food. Customer service is always good. I travel to do work in the area, and it's nice to have a good down home place to eat. Had the salmon patties last night. They hit the spot.

Amazing diner! Parents have been here few times and haven't found anything they don't like. I personally highly enjoyed the Gyro and cheese curds. Will definitely be going back when I visit my parents!
