Spirit Volleyball Club, Elyria OH

This place is a dump. Bathrooms are a mess. Parking is non-existent. They run volleyball tournaments poorly. Snack bar is cash only or you can Venmo the owner money directly. That doesn't sound shady, does it?

Like the place but the parents don’t have enough respect to MOVE when another team comes in to play they keep chairs upfront walks away or on bench and refuses to move so other parents can watch their children! This needs to be in-forced!

The level of disrespect and unprofessional owners. This place is ran poorly. Don't question what is going on there or you will be told to leave. How I was treated and how they acted in front of all those girls that place should be shut down. Karma will get them.

Parking is scarce so be prepared to walk if you’re going to be there for a busy tournament. Oh, and the bathrooms are super tiny and with tons of people using them all day-just take Clorox wipes and you’ll be fine ️
Seating is also limited so have a chair in your car just to be safe!

To clear things up
1- All the refs are USAV certified
2- The building is NOT air conditioned, don't say the air was down!
3- Parents are Not allowed to bring in Food or drink into the facility
4- Players can bring in their snacks; NO ONE touches their bags
5- The concession stand is amazing, Healthy and fun foods
6- We enforce Covid rules, if it applies
7- Fair or unfair has nothing to do with conducting business
8- This is a private venue, we follow OVR rules, ALWAYS
9- We give all young ladies a chance to learn and participate
10- We try NOT to turn away anyone

Very disappointing experience with this club this year. There’s so many clubs just be careful who you choose.

This place is SO run down and dirty. There was no soap in the lady's bathroom and they were gross. I swear they haven't been cleaned in days. But MOST of all, the air condition is broken. It was so hot that the volleyball players were getting sick! One athlete got suck and collapsed. An ambulance was nearly called. I don't know how this place is even rented out. It needs SERIOUS updates, STARTING with an ac unit. People need a cool place for running and jumping and playing. I promise you, this was the worst experience at a volleyball game ever! I hope they either fix the place, or it closes! Absolutely disgraceful!

Very good place to learn about volleyball as a kid very nice place to watch the game also.

A very cramped venue for volleyball especially for some of the private schools. I had a private high school match that I officiated and the temp inside the building must have been close to 100. The girls played well but it must have been tough.

If the owner owned a restaurant in Lebanon why is the concession stand so bad! That’s probably why he doesn’t own a restaurant anymore! The facility is very uncomfortable! Poorly run clubs with a creep of an owner!

Poor facility with poor ownership. A total weirdo that I would not trust around young ladies! No ventilation or customer service. My poor daughter was about to pass out due to lack of ventilation and the owner doesn’t care!

Poor coaching for clubs as well! They lost almost every game this weekend! Would not recommend!

Very nice run facility! They managed all the highs and lows associated with covid. Courts are nice and restroom facilities are clean and easily accessible. Their concession stand is fully stocked with a variety of items so that you do not have to leave the facility during your time there. They also have a Spirit Shop where you can purchase clothing and trinkets from the facility.

Terrible volleyball tournament! Officials were from there and were married! Opposing teams didn't stand a chance! Several JO clubs will never return. Especially after the remarks made from the directors to Opposing team parents! No class at all.
Ordered a hot dog and they literally put it on the bun straight from the refrigerator! Terrible! Never again.

Their safety procedures help everyone feel safe and OVR's rules are actually followed.

This club is very unfair, they break contracts and ignore their members. I would never recommend them to anyone.
