Star House reviews
5Very rude immature boys and girls there the staff act like the so called grown folks they need more rules in this facility tbh too much freedom for the unnecessary drama i came here for one night and never again i went back i wont be treated like im a slave or a school child. If you dont have no where else to go just stay to yourself in this place. If you can handle the negativity, the VERY CONSISTENT chaos this the place for you on the positive side the food is pretty good, showers is decent, laundry and you are able to smoke as you please. But personally is not worth dealing with a unsafe. Non child friendly place
Safe space for women abusers and trigger happy people. You're better off dying in the streets than coming here. Also, they don't even let you have blankets. If you're lucky enough to get one, someone will steal it from you and then you'll just be back to being cold.
It's a decent place but it's always too much people inside the building, sometimes I can't even find a seat to sleep in, the staff is nice sometimes and the food isn't always fresh, you only have so much time to be in there after your time is up you have to go somewhere else, sometimes I can't even find anywhere to go outside of star house so I just stay outside waiting for my time to go back in. I don't really feel safe there but if I have to go to have a roof over my head for a little bit of time I'll just go there. My advice is to get a job and save as much money as you can to get an apartment, keep your head up. You're not alone!
I know a young man who came there for shelter and was only given a chair to sit on and sleep on all night. Didn't even offer help with clothes, shoes, jacket but your website says different. Just remember to ask questions before you go somewhere that isn't really going to help. Be a advocate for yourself.
