Summertree Apartments, Mentor-On-The-Lake OH

My boyfriend & I have been calling & emailing multiple times in the past few weeks for more information and absolutely no answer! One of my last attempts of calling I sent them a voicemail. They called back and immediately hung up after one ring! I saw it ring once and immediately called them back and no answer! The reviews are absolutely right and honestly at this point the owner must be who’s answering the phones and getting all these complaints.

I am looking for an apartment, and I just have to say how sickening these responses are from the owner. There are many one star reviews, and the owner has excuses for all. How about the owner fire the manager who is disrespectful to applicants and residents? How about the owner saying sorry instead of making excuses? I'm so tired of this. Definitely will not be applying to live here. I hope others feel the same way. Enough already.

All of the reviews are true just avoid this place. I'd rather be in a box on the corner then deal with management. Area is very nice and people are friendly. I hate to say this probably cheaper of the places for mentor but you're still looking at 1k+ per month. To get treated terrible.

Lived here for 2 years and continuously received poor maintenance and management. Every time I had a problem, I would get talked down by the manager and made out to be an idiot or to be lying. The manager only listens if you’re a man. Which is very ridiculous. She also flirted with my boyfriend often. While living here, we had a broken pipe under our building and our whole kitchen had to be torn apart. They told us they can give us an apartment next door to live in after I demanded we should not have to live under the conditions of a giant hole in our kitchen. They covered the giant hole in the floor with a foldable table and expected us to still live in our apartment with no access to our food or running water while random men were coming in and out of our home. So management was very upset they had to offer another apartment. After given the keys next door, I noticed they never cleaned the apartment after tenants moved out but demanded we clean it before sleeping there. Hair in the bathtub, dishes still in the dishwasher, dirt everywhere that I was made to clean. I also worked night shift at the hospital and nobody bothered telling me they’d be tearing my kitchen apart when I would be sleeping. They just came in and did it. They never put plastic over our furniture before jackhammering our kitchen, so our living room, dining room and kitchen were covered in dust and dirt with no sorry what’s so ever. After threatening to call corporate, they decided they’d give me a free carpet cleaning and have their cleaner come out, who barely cleaned. The men that worked on the kitchen left their trash all over my house and constantly urinated all over my bathroom toilet. They also put laminate flooring over top of our ceramic tile and our front door wouldn’t properly open or close. Our weather strip on our door broke because the flooring was too high and was told we had to fix it? Our toilet was wobbly and not bolted down properly. After bringing it up to management, we were told it wasn’t an emergency, so it never was fixed. Also during the kitchen situation, our granite counter top was cracked down the center- and they literally tried to fix it with silicone caulk. Wasn’t surprised at the stupidity. We also had the responsibility of having to pay for it if we wanted it replaced. After all these things done to us, they raised our rent another $100. The manager doesn’t do anything but get drunk and stumble around in the lawn, then eventually passes out somewhere. While maintenance was clearly never trained on anything. The laundry was $6 per load before leaving. Go somewhere else where management treats you with respect and where paying close to $1,000 per month is actually worth it. Apartment 3J

The absolute worse apartment Manager I ever spoke to. She is very rude, refused to listen and if I owned these apartments I would get rid of her! I would not move there EVER I dont care what they offered. She first said I couldn't move in because I didn't have enough income and I tried nicely to explain that it wasn't the only income and they didn't have anywhere to add additional income and she talked over me saying yea yea so when do you need to move I said Feb 1, her response was well thats not going to happen, like who talks to people like this? I still tried to be nice and she was still rude so yes I gave her the return attitude because I dont care who you are you do not talk to people like that and ESPECIALLY if you are a so called apartment manager. She also refused to give me her name after several times of me asking.

Family member lived here. Can hear everything through walls and owner is very condescending.

Tried to email the manger multiple times and haven’t received an email or a call back.very disappointed since I was super interested and wanted to schedule a tour. Looks like I’ll have to look somewhere else

I have been living here for close to 2 months. The area is quiet, neighbors are friendly, and easily accessible food/entertainment nearby! The application process was simple. When I was interested, I received an email 2 days later (given I emailed on a weekend). The property owner is extremely friendly. Couldn’t ask for a better location.

My wife called twice with no response ever. Finally contacted someone through email and set up a showing of the apartment. Confirmed with manager an hour before the appointment so I left work early only to find out there were no apartments available. Clearly poorly managed.

I scheduled an appointment to see a townhouse the same day and when I got there, the manager told me it was already rented. My husband, Daniel, wrote a review earlier and the owner replied with blatant lies. I was so shocked to see this person claiming we didn't show up for our appointment. I was in the office at Summertree by 4: 15 for my 4: 30 appointment. The manager was an extremely rude woman who spoke with me for all of 30 seconds and told me to try Sussex West in Eastlake instead. If you're reading this and wondering if you should rent here, I would be wary. Imagine dealing with these people on a regular bsis when they're so willing to tell pointless lies to try to make themselves look better instead of just apologizing for their mistakes.

I emailed them a month ago because I was interested. I never heard back. I emailed them again a couple of days ago and I still haven’t heard back. If this is how they treat potential renters than how do they treat their residents?
