Tappan Lake Park reviews
17To me it seems to be a place for large, permanently placed RV/Campers, not for people who love camping. Our little popular was SO out of place.
When researching tappan lake before actually going everyone says it’s a great time especially to take your dogs. I have been told by many people and when looking up everyone says dogs are able to swim at tappan lake. I called their service desk and Rose (the woman working, who wasn’t the friendliest) told me dogs have never been allowed to swim at tappan lake. We drove an hour to get there to take the dogs just to be told dogs aren’t allowed to swim at tappan lake and are pretty much not allowed in most areas there unless you’re camping there. It’s ridiculous. I did see 2 dogs on the beach but apparently us and are dogs were not allowed. Definitely will never come back.
Was visiting family, i currently live in SC, the park and camping facilities are wonderful. Makes me want to go camping right now! We ate at the Marina, very good food and the nicest service ever. I want to come back soon
Went to the beach with friends.cooked out had a great time nice beach shower an changing rooms are clean well taken care of
Kids had an absolute blast water boarding behind the ski boat. Everyone was extremely friendly too, great place to spend some time with the family)
First time visiting. Had no idea the place was this big! Planning to make a family trip out there this summer!
A great camp ground to go to especially with kids. Such friendly staff. Amazing program going on for kids & adults.
The park was amazing otgerthen being harrassedby the ranger for having a loud truck! Still a great experience tho!
Beautiful park, beautiful lake, just a shame we weren't able to stay. Had a reservation for 04/9-4/10, drove all the way from Akron only to pull in and not have any power to breaker. We checked all of the boxes around us and nothing worked. Called on Monday was told I would get a call back after they spoke with the maintenance team, didn't get one, and when I called back I was told that the power was supposedly on. If the power was on than why did no boxes have power? We checked them with a multimeter. No power. Normally we would've stuck it out, but it was 30 degrees that weekend and we kinda needed heat. Just severely disappointed and we don't see ourselves coming back
Great place with coronavirus going on to take kids and very cheap prices. They will be opening as soon as it gets warm. Great lake for fishing also.
This place is very nice. Just picked the wrong week to camp. It’s been raining basically the whole time. It’s also very windy. Then it’ll stop & you get your hopes up. Then it’ll rain again lol. Not camps fault. That’s just Ohio for ya. But, we are having some nice family memories that kids will remember for a long time (Hopefully lol)
I and my family have been permanent campers for 38 years until 3 years ago. Tap pan was a great place to go, but they started changing stuff and it just didn’t seem like a campground anymore. It seems like a trailer park now after they cut down all the trees. Nobody was enforcing the rules anymore, like bike riding after dark. It’s a real shame that they charge more each year but cut down on rangers. I wish everyone there to have fun, but this family won’t be coming back.
Depending on the boat traffic lake can be very rough putting your boat in the water. Beach area is very nice with eight dock spaces and restrooms shower inside and out.
We spent the day on the lake and the evening in one of there cabins. Must say it was pretty nice. Fridge, air, tv, stove and 2 bedrooms. Would do it again
Made you feel like you are camping in the mid west with all the big tall trees. And I didn't even have to leave Ohio
Love taking our family out on the boat to swim an tube. There's several places marked off so you can safely swim! Great fishing! Water is so clean!
Beach is nice, usually have events for the kids like movie nights and such. A good spot a weekend or a long term camper spot.
