My only recommendation is the fish and shrimp tacos should be grilled instead of fried. It would elevate the taco more with a nice charred flavor. The breading just doesn't do it justice.

Best authentic Mexican restaurant by far. Great specials, good craft beers and excellent outdoor seating with music on weekends.

Went for Dia de Los Muertos. Had the special margarita and a bowl of pozole. Husband had carnitas and si de puede beer. Everything was so good.

We’ve been to the Battleground maybe 5-6 times and it’s wonderful. The dining room is nice as well as two outdoor patio seating areas. They have an excellent selection of tequilas, beers, liquors. I had 2 excellent mojitos. The menu is fairly compact- 5-6 tacos, a handful of salads and maybe 9 or so entrees. Chips and salsa aren’t automatic. The flavors are what’s so outstanding - this is unlike any other Mexican Restaurant in the Kent/Tallmadge/Akron area. The food here is clearly authentic and very flavorful, using ingredients that are unusual to find in so many other restaurants. The owner has ALWAYS visited our table, at least once, during our visits. She is clearly on top of it and takes pride in this place she created. Sometimes in the past I thought prices were a bit high for relatively small portions but there was plenty of food for the price tonight (guacamole, chips, 4 different, very flavorful homemade tacos, orders of local roasted sweet corn in a delicious sauce). Making a reservation is a wise approach here- this place has a well-deserved, great reputation and attracts a crowd. Enjoy!

Stopped in with my son tonight. I love the atmosphere here, the owner has done a wonderful job creating a beautiful space (even the bathroom is picture perfect). The food is AMAZING! The presentation was beautiful and the taste was absolutely delicious -I can't wait to try more! Imani, the bar tender, was very welcoming and created a perfect cocktail for me and I can't wait to try more of the delicious creations they have here. We will be returning!

My friends raved about this place and for good reason. This is the only Mexican restaurant in the area that offers authentic delicious Mexican cooking. Lovely atmosphere, great service, killer margaritas. Small menu, but many things still to try. I will definitely go back.

Hands down the best Mexican food in north eastern Ohio. No hesitation. Every bite was spectacular. I literally licked my plate.

We tasted a variety of tacos tonight. While all were great, our favorites were the squash blossom taco (special of the night) and coconut shrimp tacos.

The Whistleblower margarita was such a well-balanced cocktail with layers of flavors. One of the best margaritas I’ve had!

We happened to go on a night that they were doing a tequila tasting and got to hear all about some of the tequilas they were enjoying. Just watching it from a distance made us excited to try out one of their classes or tastings in the future! Quality establishment all around!

We've been visiting the Battleground since they first opened, just prior to the pandemic. That was a tough time for a restaurant to open and they had a rocky start. However, I think they have really hit their stride. Food and service is exceptional.
