The Hairless Hare Brewery reviews
24This place gives fantastic service as well as delicious meals. The best spot in the city. The food arrived quick and the prices are reasonable. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
Love this place. It's my local comfort spot. I love the food and the beer. Everything about this place is great.
Decided to try a new place for pizza, and was very disappointed. Paid for a large deluxe and asked multiple times for extra sauce even had the order read back. When we picked it up there was almost no sauce on the pizza. Will not be ordering from here again.
The Hare GREAT BEERS! Oh the Buckeye Nation WOW! The food is not to shabby either. GREAT FOOD too!
Thanks to the Hairless Hare team job well done.
So bummed to give this place such a low review because the beer & pizza are great. I have been here on four occasions at different times & varying levels of activity. Sadly, the staff always seem so bothered to be serving people. They’re disengaged, short, & often times seem downright inconvenienced to be helping their customers. I gave it multiple tries hoping it was just a one-time problem, but each time I go I have to same poor experience. This place would be great if the staff were a bit better trained.
Very good brewery to check out. Rib lunch special was excellent and I had a flight with it. However the small deluxe pizza in my opinion was way overpriced at around $14 and it was pretty small.
I'd give this place a 6 if I could, the beer is some of the best I've had anywhere. My most favorite beer though was the smoked IPA, unbelievably smokey, tasteful, and bitter at the same time. I typically do not like hazel anything, but the hazelnut brown ale was fantastic. We then got the pizza, half curry chicken, half mushroom, the curry chicken was absolutely wonderful all that it needed was a little bit of hot pepper. Check the place out, super friendly.
A place that I have tried time and time again (5+ times) and each time I left dissappointed.food=okay, drink=pretty good and service=mediocrity. Sat at the bar and was ignored by the bartender each time, and treated to rude service anytime I tried to ask questions regarding the beers or food. Watched as people who sat down after us were served (food and drink) before us. Wanna go to a place that ignores all other people in favor of their regulars? Go here. Sad, because I realllly wanted to like this place and was looking for a reason to become a regular, and I have officially given up.
I've tried this place several times really trying to get into a new local bar/ brewery apparently this is just not the place.
Crowd: This is your parents bar. The crowd here is 35+ and not very friendly. I'm a pretty friendly person that make conversation easily and here, its very much a struggle. The most you will get from most of them is " Hey, can you move down a chair? I need to make room for my buddies" and then there is no one that comes to take that chair. People do bring their kids with them when they come out to eat. The times that I have been there it was mostly small children like infants or well behaved teenage children.
Food: The food is alright. Wings are grilled or baked, I never really got an answer from the bar tender. Pizza is pretty good and seems to be pretty popular.
Service: Service has been pretty hit or miss, Id say about 50% good and about 50% bad. I've had bartenders be pretty nice, and friendly and attentive. I've also had bartenders completely ignore us for regulars (both for food and drink service), forget to enter in our food orders and be flat out rude. It is order at the bar service for food drinks and they will bring it to you in the dining room if they have enough staff.
Beer: Since it is a newer brewery, they don't have a ton of taps but the the beer selection is good. They have this ugly mug collection membership that seems pretty good if you are a fan of what they brew.
All in all, its not a bad place just kind of average.
Beer was good and I hear food is amazing, but bartender's snobby attitude is the killer. Other service staffs are amicable, but just the horrible bar staffs.
What an incredible place! I heard from one of the waitresses that they're expanding to the place beside them. Really looking forward to going back. Went on a Sunday, so I missed out on the Irish coffee and some other awesome sounding mixed drinks. I did manage to get some of the salmon pizza, fortunately. The food alone is enough to go for if you're not looking to drink. The beer speaks for itself; I had one of my new favorite beers here! Service was spectacular, and the tiki mugs inside add an awesome aesthetic to the place. Must visit if you haven't been!
Yelped this on way to Indy. Had the mushroom and BBQ pizzas and both were excellent. Chocolate habanera sauce had some real bite. Wife enjoyed one of their IPAs and really liked it. Enjoyed a talk with the owner. Will definitely be back on the next time through.
First time here. Staff is great. Had the BLT special which was good. Homemade slaw was fantastic. The kickback kolsch black raspberry beer was very good!
In this places defense I am not a beer drinker, so cannot rate on that, but came for the prime rib dinner. When we arrived they told us we had to order at the counter and pay first. Three dinners with 3 soft drinks was $64 and change before tip. Had the portion size and the mashed potatoes been more edible would have minded the $18.75 price for the meal. The table we sat at had a menu on it, and noticed people paying after they ate, as well as orders being taken.
Our mashed potatoes gravy was full of pepper, the bread was flavorless and the small cut of meat that had no pink in it was ok tasting, but disappointing on the portion. No one checks on you to see if you would like anything else, or if you have a problem. Very inclined to not return.
Great atmosphere, amazing selection of beers on tap, good food choices. Will definitely be going back.
We were in here and a man (the owner), spoke so loud to my husband the whole place could here. I did not hear what my husband said to his wife, but it wasn't loud. He had told her the music was too loud, because she could not hear him.
Addendum: I forgot to mention the special is not worth the money. One stuffed pepper (runny) and potatoes seemed like box potatoes, Hardly worth the humiliation in a place you spend money.
First off I never called the man a bartender.
VERY RUDE AND NASTY service here.
I love this place! The beer is so well done. Balanced, flavorful, every style is good. They are doing ESB's, sours, IPA's, barrel aged, you name it. And the pizza is fantastic, pretzels delicious. Smoked wings are unlike anything else. You really can't go wrong. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It feels like a friendly neighborhood bar. I love taking people there, and when we pull up in the parking lot they always look at me like I'm nuts. Yes it's in a strip mall by a pharmacy, but don't let that stop you. I only wished I lived closer so I could go more frequently. Love the Hare!
Great food, excellent service! They had a great selection of beer and wine. Also a full bar if your not a beer or wine person.
Fantastic service, food, and beverage! We always search out local places when traveling and this one caught our attention. So glad we checked it out! We'll make it a regular stop when in the area.
Located next to the airport, I was concerned about noise but was pleasantly surprised that we couldn't hear the airport.
My and I went for the classic pepperoni pizza. I feel you can tell a lot about a restaurant's ability to make pizza by trying the classics. They didn't disappoint. The texture and flavor were great.
I also ordered the Cold War Russian Imperial Stout. It is one of the best I've tried. They brew it in Eagle Rare bourbon barrels and for those that don't know, Eagle Rare is a smooth bourbon.
