The Laurels of Mt. Vernon reviews
14My mom was at the Laurels of Mount Vernon for the last year of her life and I could not have asked for a better group of ladies to help me take care of her. They became like family to me and took excellent care of Mom. Specifically the nurses Stacey Blankeship, CeCe Stull, Hannah Dagis, Toni Petty and aides Ashley Heffelfinger, Jamie Conn, and Ashton Poore just to name a few. Those ladies are all angels.
The laurels is the best place I have ever worked but that's mainly due to the staff. Stacey is one of the best I know I'm going to have a God day when she's there!
The staff have been very helpful and friendly. Reception kindly directs me to who can help with questions I have had. They also provide wonderful additional support services.
My family and I came in to tour the facility last weekend. Admissions was so patient in answering all of our questions and the building was so clean, we placed my grandpa here this week and we are so pleased with everyone.
I worked there for several months last year as a temp aide and I absolutely loved the residents there, the staff were always entertaining and made everyone feel like family
My grandma stayed here for a few weeks last month for therapy. The facility was extremely clean and everyone treated my grandma extremely well while she was there!
Christina Lashley and Ashley Heffelfinger have made my sister n law feel welcome and secure in her move to this facility. They make her feel at home and provide excellent care. Our family is very grateful to these 2 for their extra effort in making her feel at home.
I was very comfortable staying at this home. Everyone was great and has a positive attitude towards the care of the individuals staying there. If I need to stay there in the future I would.
I spent time at the Laurels in June of 2022. Just received a bill from a company that they had called to transport me to the hospital for dr. Visit. We were not told that we would have to pay for this trip at any time. 9 months is a long time to be surprised with a bill.
They did a fantastic job getting my moms dad back on his feet! They are nice people great nurses and aides he enjoyed the therapy department so A+ Laurles of Mount Vernon
Don’t send your loved ones here, they don’t care. Good place to die. The administrator is a bully!
I am very impressed with the kindness and compassion the nursing department has shown toward my mother. I have been in healthcare for over 30 years and have never seen such sincere attentiveness. Laurels of Mt Vernon is well worth the drive.
Good day, so, where do I begin? First off, I want to share the positives about the facility. I started at the Laurels of Mount Vernon a couple of years ago and the management and staffing were in pretty good shape. Like all places, every building faces its daily challenges. The core aide and nursing staff are very good, and I enjoyed working with them very much. I also want to point out that the food, dietary, and the physical therapists on staff are great and would recommend them to anyone. Now I want to discuss the reason I left, first off, I do not like how the corporate people treat management and floor staff, the only way they know how to communicate with us is through put downs and fear. It is an absolute disgrace. It is as if they are way up above us and we are the garbage that keeps the gears greased. Second there is no support for management and staff that try to make a difference; that building lost many great people due to lack of support. That to me is completely unacceptable since the Laurels company has the capital and the knowledge to make this place better but choose not to. This place has a horrible reputation in the community for terrible care, and the company for its terrible treatment of the employees. If you do what you have always done what will be will always be and nothing will ever improve. For the select few corporate individuals that will read this, you know who you are, and I am sure you do not care as long as you make your money. Out of sight out of mind I guess; with that being said have a great day!
Worst place in the world! Don't send your family here! 6 years ago I was here for rehab after having lung surgery. I have multiple lung diseases from breathing in mold when I was pregnant with my youngest (12 years ago) But while there at the laurels, I had an IV port in my right bicep. They weren't cleaning it and replacing tubing like they were supposed to and it got infected. My right eye started turning red and swollen. After complaining I was told the Dr was in Florida and they'd call him. He returned the call 2 days later! My eye was green and gross. I was taken to OSU and had to have a cornea transplant. With all my underlined medical problems I don't heal like a healthy normal person would and at times it takes me months to get over a simple cold. But this was bad, 3 cornea transplants and I still was unable to see. Then it got blisters and I had to have my eye removed. I left there after the first transplant and never returned. Got a lawyer to sue them too, but they falsified their documents and I had no proof they didn't "help" me smh
Now years later my parents are there, unforseen circumstances, and family who lies and tricks you into putting your loved ones in that place.was supposed to be 2 weeks, that was in June it's now Nov! My parents have been sick and but themselves. My mom is wheelchair bound and they broke her hip! She had surgery 2 weeks ago for a hip fracture they did! So we're figuring out how to get me parents out of there, don't go there!
