The Little Pie Shop & Cafe, Ashtabula OH

Went in this morning for breakfast. Two waitresses were talking, told us to sit at any clean table. We walked into the room at our right, as you come in the door, and sat at a clean table, only 4 other couples in the room and 3 already had their orders. Blonde waitress brings us our water. About 10 minutes later a family of about 16-17 people come in and sit at 4 tables in the room. A waitress comes over and starts taking their drink orders. Two more couples come in and sit at 2 different tables. Blonde waitress gets their drink orders. I’m trying to make contact with either waitress, no luck. People at the table behind us, they were there when we came in, tell us that they’ve been waiting for their food for almost 1/2 an hour. By now, we’ve been sitting for over 20 minutes. Waitress comes back and begins talking orders from the family group that came in after us. My husband finally gets the attention of the blonde waitress and she comes over begrudgingly, like it’s not her job. My husband simply says “did you forget about us? ” The waitress rolls her eyes and fans her face with her hand and says “ I’m really over stimulated right now sir! ” My husband looks at me and says “let’s go, we’ve been sitting over half an hour, ”. The waitress says loudly “you don’t have to yell at me sir! ”? I’m sure that we looked like the villains and she looked like the victim. And a young man from the family group remarked as we walked past them “that’s real nice! ” None of his business! We understand that places are short handed but the remark and attitude of the waitress was uncalled for, an apology was in order. We understand that businesses are short staffed and we were patient. We were only 2 people, taking our orders would have taken only a couple of minutes. Being short handed doesn’t give you license to be rude or dismissive of customers that do patronize your business. Not that it matters to anyone but, we won’t be back

I was the “young man” in the previous review that spoke up when the young waitress was yelled at…sorry, seek a manager if you want to yell - instead of dishing it on the poor young woman. I will not keep quiet when I see a grown man yelling at a young girl…all over how quickly breakfast is served.

More importantly - I would highly recommend this place. The food was fresh, coffee was hot, and service was awesome - and no chance anyone is beating their prices. We came in with a larger group (in town for a family wedding) - which surely was overwhelming for the staff. They handled it the best they could…as I know we disrupted the normal quiet Friday morning feel. Also, the pies were to die for. The owner came out multiple times during our visit to see how things were, and help his staff with cleanup, etc…Love seeing that.

All in all a great experience…if we’re ever back in town, we know where we’ll be going. If you’re looking for great food, at a great price, and amazing service - Look no further.

Came here Friday morning (with a large family group) on the advice of someone in our group that had breakfast there the previous day. The breakfast was awesome, the wait staff pleasant and efficient. In addition, we all ordered a slice of pie to go which I ate the next morning and it didn’t disappoint. I would highly recommend this place and if I am ever back in the area, I will be sure to visit The Little Pie Shop and Cafe again.

Must have been shorthanded with a new cook/server. Restaurant was busy and we were sensitive to that but a few things went wrong.

Got our order in within 10 minutes then waited 35 minutes to receive one of two orders. That order was wrong with eggs undercooked and wrong bread. We didn't even wait for second order because to resolve issues would take forever. Put $5 down and left.

Not a good experience!

Servers were friendly. Food was reasonably priced. Food was pretty good. Would eat there again.

Our waitress was great. But it was so loud in there, very hard to hold a conversation. People talking on cell phones, just very loud. Had to wait too long for our food AND my bun had Mold on it! My husband was done with his meal, while I waited - even more- for a replacement of mine. Not a very good first impression, for sure.

Horrible experience. After an hour of waiting for bacon. Eggs and toast.older waitress was very nice, rolled her eyes and apologized that it was gonna be another 15 minutes or so.
When I proceeded to leave the chubby dark haired waitress was cocky and said we are short a cook and help. No empathy, just a RUDE server.
I would suggest never to go there.
This wasn't my first time there, been going there off and on for more than five years.nothing special there.
Mary's may be alittle more, but it's definitely worth it, quality better and friendly service.
Providing service to my clients comes with no attitude.

I’m so excited to have found this place while visiting. I was providing dessert for a cookout and purchased a variety of pies - they were all a hit. Especially the strawberry rhubarb & lemon blueberry. Thanks for your easy ordering, delicious pies, and fair prices. I will definitely be back when I visit NE Ohio. This place is a gem!

The staff was great. We had breakfast which didn't take too long to come out even though they were busy. Would definitely go again

Making 2 elder people 2 small children and a pregnant woman wait outside in the cold (with windchill 5 degree snowing weather) because they don't know how to seat people

If you haven't tried it, you are missing out. Great people, great food.amazing pies. Would definitely recommend.
