The Loft Violin Shop, Columbus OH

I went there to repair a bow for a bass. There did the repair ontime and was very reasonably priced for the repair. My granddaughter loves her upgraded bow. I would highly recommend this shop for all musical needs.

Good for instrument & shoulder rest / accessory rental or purchase, but I would find bigger ticket items elsewhere

They offer a wide variety of instruments, and even have rent-to-own with trading in/trading up instruments to get the one you want!

Definitely a must for anyone looking to try Violin, Viola, Cello, or Bass. Me and my wife took our daughter here and got a tour, tons of information, started their rent to own program for our daughter, and had such a lovely experience. I needed a violin to play at my uncle’s funeral when he passed away suddenly. My granddaughter was using my violin for school so I needed to find one quickly before traveling to Arkansas. I immediately thought of The Loft. Alexander was so kind and rented one to me for the week. He even included rosin and a shoulder rest, and when I came back a week later to return the instrument, he remembered me and inquired about the event. The instrument itself was beautiful and might even have been a bit nicer than my own! Thank you Loft and Alexander for making a difficult time a little less difficult.

The people were very friendly and the service was fast. They explained everything to my child as well as myself about proper care of the instrument. Great place! Great prices!

Decided to try the rent-to-own program as a budding cellist. I was able to apply and pick up on the same day! The staff was super welcoming, nice, and answered all of my questions. Would recommend this establishment for anyone interested in (or currently) playing strings.

This is my 15th year (maybe 16th) as a customer of The Loft Violin Shop. We have visited the shop for everything from rosin, string and bow purchases to instrument sizing-up, purchasing new cellos & violins, trading in/up violins, cello bridge repairs, to book & practice stand purchases. The staff is always so helpful and ready to answer questions and address concerns.

Our most recent visit was simply to have a new violin string installed and purchase an extra set of strings to have on hand at home. In installing the replacement string, the staff person noticed that one of the other strings was rubbing a new, out of place, groove into the bridge and took the instrument to the back to have a quick repair done to get the string into proper position. We hadn't noticed it at all-so this probably saved us a future trip for a repair.

This is our go-to stop for all things violin and cello.

I feel that my assumption may be misrepresenting the business, so please see owner comment regarding instrument cost and details! I made the assumption based on personal experience, without verifying that info with the shop.

Cute little shop, friendly service, and they will even educate you how to hold and care for your instrument. Monthly payments for rentals are reasonable, and I like how you can trade in sizes as you grow at no additional charge. Once you are paid up, you own the instrument. To that regard, the instruments are typically refurb, since the terms are rent to own, and people return them when no longer needed. For those who intend to own them, I feel that there should be a discount on refurb instruments, because the one you rent isn't necessarily new.

Stopped in because my daughter’s violin “shrunk” on her (top notch Dad-Jokes are available FREE @The Violin Loft!). Easy, pleasant and quick swap-out for any size instrument with their rental program! Their rental program is head and shoulders above everyone else’s in the area when you consider the expertise that comes with every student rental!

Knowledgeable and friendly staff with everything you need from a student first starting a stringed instrument to a seasoned orchestral player.

The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Rental program is topnotch as well. As an added bonus, when you visit the shop it feels like a classic violin shop in an old home.
