The National Exemplar reviews
15Everyone’s order came out perfectly, egg white omelets, basted eggs to perfect doneness, correct sides. Show stopper was the gorgeous stack of French toast topped with a sprinkling of confectioners sugar and beautiful berries. Brewed coffee was also delicious and a pot left on the table for refills was much appreciated.
The "Not your mom's pot roast" was fantastic! Our server, Andrew was a delight.
I love eating here with its delicious food and atmosphere. Had great service too. Love their Reuben sandwhiches.
Absolutely high quality, gourmet fare. Theres something here for every taste, and unlike most upscale restaurants the portion sizes are very fulfilling. The Exemplar is very approachable fine dining without being pretentious or bank busting.
Mediocre. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and everything was very disappointing on this visit.
Really good brunch, especially the lemon ricotta pancakes, at a incredibly reasonable price.
The lunch special is the reason we come. Cannot beat 9.99 for pick two and the soup of the day is always amazing!
If you want a truly memorable experience dine at The National Exemplar! Originated in the 1800s and the ambiance reflects that era with pictures and beautiful furniture. Food is outstanding and the service is always on point. They have outdoor seating as well.
Food was good, but doesn't really stand up to the price. Staff was very friendly and prompt. Mushroom-Truffle Garganelli was the clear winner for our party. Absolutely nothing wrong with the rest, it just didn't hit the mark. Would try again the next time we're in the area, but there are 2 other bistros next door.
The breakfast protein bowl I could eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The water juice was light and refreshing. Can't wait to try dinner
This place is really good. I've only been here for breakfast a handful of times. Wait times can be really long though, so I'd recommend joining the Yelp waitlist.
Great service, and great food. Wow, the B. L. T. E.was delicious! And so were the lemon ricotta pancakes. I was a first timer this visit, but will be back.
Ate on the patio before it becomes too cold to enjoy this wonderful experience. Food is always tasty, not exceptional cuisine, but solidly good food and always willing to modify entrees to fit dietary needs. We always enjoy breakfast or lunch at this beautiful little spot in Mariemount.
Bacon wrapped dates and mushroom soup were excellent. Prime rib was very good and tender. Sea bass had no flavor other than a strong fishy taste. Service was slow and inattentive, even though restaurant was empty when we arrived.
Best for on the east side. Their cocktails aren't bad either.
Sunday brunch is tasty, affordable and delicious
