The Old Bag of Nails Pub reviews
19I think this is better quality than the ones in Columbus! I had the fish and chips. They actually cooked my fries extra crispy as I asked them to, compared to another fish and chips order my son made and his fries were not extra crispy. My wife got the French Dip with grilled veggies on the side and they were great too. Oh, we got the giant pretzel for an appetizer and that was a great pretzel! Loved the flavor and texture! Great job guys! We're from Columbus, but will make the drive again to eat at this location.
Another delicious meal, the fish and chips were great, as well as the chicken tenders. Fried corn always a perfect side and the onion rings with the flaky batter were amazing. Our waiter was excellent, always attentive to our drinks and anything else we needed. I would definitely recommend "Old Bag of Nails Pub" to anyone traveling through Delaware, Oh!
The food was delicious and the wait staff was so helpful! If we're ever passing through Delaware again I would definitely stop by again.
We had good service. Kid friendly. My fish and chips were pretty darn good. Lots of salt and malt vinegar is the way to go!
Where is my jug with horses and a flag, hmm? Get that out and display it at all times. P. S. It used to be full of horse sense.
A convenient place to grab some decent food and drinks in Delaware. The menu has many options from sandwiches, to salads, to meatloaf, but anything deep fried (like their fish & chips) is where they are strongest. Portions are large so bring a healthy appetite or prepare to carry something home. I prefer their comfortable booths to the tables. They also have a very nice patio with bar and covered areas when the weather permits.
I've lived 5 minutes from this place for as long as I can remember and I've only been here twice because it's so basic. Driving past it reminds me of that "one chick" from high school that was kinda cool and randomly pops up on Facebook in " people I may know" and I think to myself "oh yeah, she was cute". Then I still don't add her. Because what's the point, nothing has changed.
We were seated immediately and the food was great. Nice atmosphere and wasn't sitting on top of each other, will definitely go back.
The place looks like a pub. It was quiet. They had 1 waitress serving our area. I had to get her attention if I needed somethi g.
I took a client here for lunch and everything was good, price was decent, atmosphere was busy and service was good. I had fish and chips, they were good, nothing exceptional.
We had the Reuben and Fish. They were good as always. The waitress was very nice but seemed overwhelmed. Overall it was a good experience.
It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. Service was adequate but not memorable. We had the sauerkraut balls which were actually quite tasty. Plenty of beer choices. Bottom line. I think there are better options nearby, but this will be an acceptable choice too.
I spent about $60 and wasn't real thrilled about the food or service. I know that isn't too much for going out, but I probably wouldn't go back. Not a great experience.just a waist of money.
Old Bag gas good food and drinks. Their lunch specials are fantastic and they have a decent happy hour as well.
They accommodated our group that had grown in size. We may have been somewhat lucky because of the day of the week, but we had switched from a group of 5 to almost 8. Everything with the timing and portion size was fantastic.
Really bland chicken nachos. Was told it came with salsa but it was crappy cut up tomatoes & onion. Mostly all chips & beans and about 90% of the tortillas had no toppings even on them. They could have even added a little more cheese for $10 Nachos was very disappointed. My husband got the fishermans platter but again very pricey for what you get. The scallops were hard as a rock inside, very tough to even eat. Could not taste the fish through the batter & oil. Will not be coming back and this was our 1st visit.
Great service and amazing food. The wings, fish & chips are outstanding. They also have decent happy hour prices on drinks and food.
Old Bag is a good place to get together with friends for drinks and apps. Their happy hour is one of the better one's that I've seen which makes it an easy choice for a quick bite to eat. The outdoor patio in the summer and fall months makes for a fun atmosphere, one in which you could sit outside and chat for hours. The food itself is alright, and the service just the same. If you're looking for something simple, or you're craving some decent bar food, this may be a place for you to check out. Helpful Hint: Best appetizer - onion rings, best beverage - 21st Amendment (seasonal), best entree - buffalo chicken wrap.
Had a great lunch with friends at Delaware location. Seated when we first arrived. Waitress was great, drinks out fast, refilled often. Meals were hot and delicious and served right up without a wait. Our bill was presented soon after eating. Will go back again, great experience.
